Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates record-breaking tourism entry Numbers from the United States


NEW YORK - Sep. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/ The Israel Ministry of Tourism today released new records for arrivals of tourists in Israel from the United States in July and August. 78,000 visitors from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This is a four percent increase over the year before and 71,000 tourists from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% more than the number of visitors in 2019.

"It is so thrilling to once again see an rise in the number of tourists visiting Israel from the United States, already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking numbers for the year 2019." stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is our number one market for inbound tourism for Israel. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had record-breaking number of tourists from Israel entering Israel each month. We are so happy to see this positive change and expect this trend to last for a long time."

Canada is poised to surpass Israel's tourist arrivals, with 7,200 tourists visiting Israel in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 in August.

Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director of Canada for Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was thrilling to see the Canadian tourism industry to Israel rebounding. "We are not far off our record 2019 numbers, and we are anticipating that the growth in the number of travelers to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians remain at ease travelling abroad."

Israel received more tourists from all over the world during the year 2019 than any other nation. 969 600 of these were Americans. Israel's official reopening for all travelers was May 2018. Israel has received more than 600,400 US travelers since then.
