Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates record-breaking entry into tourism The numbers come from the United States
NEW YORK - Sep. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/- The Israel Ministry of Tourism today released new records for arrivals of tourists in Israel from the United States in July and august. The country welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States during July 2022 which was an increase of 4% over 2019 and 71,000 travelers from the United States during August 2022. That's 13% increase over 2019.
"It is so thrilling to witness a new increase in tourism to Israel from the United States, already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking numbers in 2019" stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were celebrating record-breaking figures of tourist entry every month. This is a positive change that we are very happy about and anticipate an increase in the months to come."
In line with in the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing its tourism numbers in Israel with 7,200 visitors in July 2022 , and 6,600 in August.
"It is so exciting to see how the Canadian tourism to Israel is rebounding," said Gal Hana Director and Consul for Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are not far from our record 2019, and we anticipate that the increase in travel to Israel will continue to grow because Canadians feel more confident about traveling internationally."
Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million international visitors in the year 2019 including 969.600 coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all tourists, no matter whether they have been vaccinated. The country has already hosted over 600,000.
