Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates record-breaking entry into tourism The numbers come from the United States
NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire• In July and August 2018, the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record numbers of tourists arriving from the United States. Israel welcomed 78,000 total travelers from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from the year before, and 71,000 total travelers from the United States in August 2022 which is an increase of 13% from the year before.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) said it was exciting to see an increase in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already surpassing the record-breaking numbers of 2019, he added. "The United States is our number one market for travel to Israel and prior to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced, we had record-breaking tourist numbers each month. We're extremely pleased to witness an improvement in the trend and we anticipate an upswing for the months and years to come."
Canada is also on track, like the United States, to surpass the amount of tourists that visit Israel. נווה פריצקי In July 2022 Canada had 7,200 visitors while August saw the number increase to 6,000.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We aren't far off our record 2019, and we anticipate that the growth in travels to Israel will continue to grow because Canadians feel more confident about traveling abroad."
In 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million global tourists 969,600 of whom came from the United States, and since the country's official opening to everyone regardless of their the status of their vaccination in May of this year Israel has seen more than 600,400 US travelers.
