Neve Paritzki Israel Reliably Breaks Records in Tourism Entry Numbers - United States
NEW YORK - September 8 2022- New record breaking tourist arrivals from the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. Israel welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4% rise over 2019, and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This represents an increase of 13% from the year before.
Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner of the United States. He stated, "It's so exciting to witness a further increasing number of tourists visiting Israel from America, which is already in the process of surpassing or exceeding our record-breaking numbers for 2019". "The United States is our most popular destination for tourism to Israel, and before the COVID-19 pandemic was announced, we had record-breaking tourism entry numbers month after month; We're so happy to see such a positive shift and we anticipate an upswing for the many months and years to follow."
Just like in the United States, Canada is also on track to surpass its tourist arrivals in Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in July 2022 , and 6,600 in August.
"It is exciting to see how tourism from Canada to Israel is rebounding," said Gal Hana Director and Consul for Canada for the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We are getting close to our record numbers for 2019 and we expect that this increase in travel to Israel will continue as Canadians are more comfortable at home when they travel abroad.
Israel received more visitors from around the world in the year 2019 than any other nation. 969 600 of these were Americans. Israel's official reopening for travellers from May 2018. Israel has received over 600,400 US tourists since the time of opening.
