Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record-Breaking Tourism Entry The numbers from the United States
NEW YORK - September 8 2022new record-breaking tourist arrivals to the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. The country welcomed 78,000 travelers from the United States in July 2022 which is an increase of 4% from the year before and 71,000 travelers from the United States in August 2022, a 13% increase from the year before.
Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner of the United States. He said, "It's so exciting to witness a further increasing number of tourists visiting Israel from the United States, and already exceeding or even surpassing the record-breaking numbers we saw in 2019". "The United States has been the most important source of tourism for Israel inbound. Before the COVID-19 outbreak, we had been celebrating record-breaking number of Israeli tourism entries each month.
Just like in the United States, Canada is also on track to surpass its tourism numbers in Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in the month of July 2022 and 6,000 in August.
Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director for Canada for Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism said that it was thrilling to see the Canadian tourism industry to Israel rebounding. "We are not too far away from our record in 2019 and we expect that the growth in travels to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians feel more confident about traveling internationally."
Israel welcomed more that 4.6 million international visitors in the year 2019 and this included 969.600 coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all tourists, no matter whether they're vaccinated. The country has already hosted over 600,000.
