Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record Breaking Tourism Entry Numbers United States
NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. The country received 78,000 total travelers from the United States in July 2022 which is an increase of 4% from the year before and 71,000 travelers from the United States in August 2022 which is an increase of 13% from 2019.
Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. In fact, before the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were celebrating record breaking numbers of tourists entering the country month after month. It's a great positive shift that we are pleased to witness and expect an upward trend for months to come."
Canada is also on track, just like the United States, to surpass the number of tourists who visit Israel. In July 2022, Canada saw 7,200 tourists and August saw the number increase to 6,000.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada in the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are close to our record-setting numbers in 2019. We anticipate that this trend will continue as Canadians travel more abroad.
Israel received more than 4.6 million visitors in the year 2019. 969,600 were of the United States. The country's official reopening for all tourists in May saw more than 600,000.
