Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record Breaking Tourism Entry Numbers - United States
NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/ Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism revealed record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States who visited Israel during the months of July and August. Israel welcomed 78,000 total travelers from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from the year before, and 71,000 total travelers from the United States in August 2022 that's an increase of 13% from the year before.
Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States remains our most important market for Israel-bound tourism. Before the COVID-19 epidemic that was in the news, we had record-breaking monthly numbers of tourists entering the country. We are thrilled to witness this change and are expecting a steady upward trend for months or even years.
Just like in the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing its tourist arrivals in Israel by 7,200 tourists in the month of July 2022 and 6,000 in August.
"It is thrilling to see how Canada's tourism to Israel is rebounding," said Gal Hana Consul and Director of Canada for the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We're close to reaching our record-setting numbers for the year 2019 and we expect that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians feel more at ease in Israel.
Israel received more tourists from all over the world in the year 2019 than any other country. 969 600 of them were Americans. Israel's official opening for all tourists was in May of 2018. The country has already been home to more than 600,400 US travellers since that time.
