Nevada gaming revenues continue surge


Gaming revenues in Nevada grew 11 percent in October, the third straight monthly increase reported by casinos statewide.


On the Strip, gaming revenues grew 16 percent, the sixth time in the last 10 months that casinos along Las Vegas Boulevard increased the figures they collected from gamblers compared with 2009.


The Gaming Control Board said this morning casinos statewide collected gaming revenues of almost $888.6 million, which compared with almost $800.4 million collected in October 2009.


Strip casinos collected $494.8 million from gamblers during October, compared with almost $426.3 million in the same month a year ago.


Clark County as a whole saw gaming revenues increase almost 12.5 percent during October. Every reporting market in the county, except Mesquite, saw a revenue increase.


Downtown Las Vegas gaming revenues grew with 10.3 percent with casinos collecting $44.6 million during October, compared with $40.4 million in the same month a year ago.


October's gaming revenues translated into a 22 percent increase in gaming tax collections during November. Nevada said it collected almost $60.2 million in gaming taxes, compared with almost $49.3 million collected in the same month a year ago.


For the first five months of the fiscal year, gaming tax collections are up almost 6 percent compared with a year ago. 안전한 파워볼사이트
