Here's a photo album of pictures I think accurately represent what I look like. I don't really have a style of dress, I just throw on what I feel like. Whether that's really stylish or just comfortable depends on the day.
I've only ever been asked out by desperate males whom I think get crushes on me just because I'm around all the time, not because they actually like me. I have a strange kind of personality... I think I'm really nice, but I have a very sarcastic humour and at times I feel like I'm hard on the outside. I have pretty serious and difficult to treat depression. I really love science, specifically health related bio and chem. When I said nerdy in the title, I meant NERDY. I begged my parents to send me to science camp when I was 15. I love kids, bunnies, sea otters, papercrafts, sewing, exploring and reading. I explore basically like a kid would, except I can go by myself and do some riskier stuff. I drink and smoke trees pretty rarely, but mostly because it`s costly. I try to get out more, but my depression comes with fatigue that is just all-encompassing.
tl;dr: I dress how I feel, I`m genuinely nerdy, I love crafts, have depression and just want to know what can be done.
I have a specific question too: Do you think I have a big nose? If so, how big? Please be kind but honest!
Edit: Yes, I say thank you to everyone if I can! I'm Canadian, and I really do appreciate y'all taking the time.
You are decent. Sorta cute. Not hot, not ugly.
You have a beautiful nose, which you evidently got from your (grand-?)father, so you should be proud of it. Also, I think you are extremely cute. You have a warm and attractive smile in all your pictures, so it's hard for me to imagine you being depressed. Do you have any sad, depressed photos? I guess those aren't times when you want to take pictures.
I decided to make up an account to reply because of your "nose" question. I'm a guy who has a big nose. When I was in about 6th grade, I got a really short haircut once, and a friend's dad made a comment about how, with my hair so short, you could see how big my nose was. I'm sure he thought he was just teasing, but for the next 7 years I was really self-conscious about my nose so I always wore my hair long, thinking it would somehow hide the big nose. In retrospect looking back at those pictures I looked awful not because of my nose but because of that hair.
As a kid you can be teased for anything, but once you reach adulthood no one gives a $@*! about the size of your nose, so stop worrying about it.
Thank you! I'm glad you said it looks like my grandfathers nose, that makes me a lot more fond of it. I've been jealous that my nephew got his gigantic ears. I will stop worrying about my nose now, thanks! I'm glad you are comfortable with your nose now, and WELCOME TO REDDIT!!!
You aren't ugly. A bit plain, maybe. Kind of average.
No, your nose isn't unusually big. Looks normal.
Also, you don't seem to realize that girls hold all the cards as far as courtship goes. You're nerdy, so go find some nerds on campus, if you are going to school. Go join a chess club or a science club or something and watch all the forever alone guys flock to you.
Average is good! Thanks for the tips, I will go find some other science people as soon as I return to school.
I begged my parents to send me to science camp when I was 15.
What is science camp like? It sounds pretty badass.
You say queer in the title and then you italicize that you're only ever asked out by boys. Do you mean queer in the sense of lesbian or do you mean boys in the sense of 17 and under? The only thing I see that I can say you should change is lose a little bit of weight. Your face in #4 is not bad at all.
SCIENCE CAMP IS SO BADASS!!! We got to do some pretty awesome stuff, monitoring a local river and even doing a space shuttle and control room simulation. We got to use the control room as the research part of our lab after. Thank you for asking! I do mean queer in the sense of lesbian. I'm glad you asked for clarification. Thank you!
Is your nose bigger than normal? yes. It is also the same nose as the older man, who I'm assuming is your grandfather. It's familial, you should be proud of it and your heritage. Your not ugly and your nose fits your face perfectly.
Thank you, this is so encouraging to me. It made me smile!
I always shudder a bit when I see a queer person post here. Let me just say it's the same sort of "desperate boys" who hit on you whom you're asking here for advice. Just throwing that out there.
Anyway, I hope that you're at least in therapy for your depression. I know that getting the right meds requires a lot of trial and error so I wish you the best of luck. That aside, if you want to meet girls you're going to have to put yourself out there (which I know is difficult with depression, but that's why you should be on meds). Are you in university? Look into LGBT groups on campus, which should at least help you make friends. Also lesbian bars (gay bars tend to be more of a sausage fest). I'd also suggest you take a trip to r/actuallesbians .
edit- oh God, does anyone here know what queer means? It's a catchall term for "not straight". I'm pretty sure that means she's looking for chicks (or both, correct me if I'm wrong).
I'm Canadian, so I'm getting good therapy from a practitioner I really like. My dad has insurance so I've got medications that go about 1/2 of the way for me. I'm not severely depressed, I'm not really at par either (whatever par is.) I'm glad you told me this, it's exactly how I feel about other depressed people. When I found a health care team I loved it made a huge difference and we were able to work together to get me this far. I will be going back to school in January, so I'll definitely be exploring the LGBTQ community at uni. I`m a bit more confident than I was in college, so I think it'll be less nervewracking. I think I'm one of those people who just fits into "queer". I'm not REALLY bi, I'm more into chicks only, yes, but... wiggly fingers it's just not under any clear label so I go for queer. Thank you for your awesome, helpful comment!
you're not mind-blowingly gorgeous, but you are attractive. i wouldn't change anything. i didn't even notice your nose.
Thank you, that's really nice to read.
The third and fourth pictures are fantastic. The glasses are great. You're a cute girl; don't change a thing.
Your comment makes perfect sense now! Thank you!
From an Asian perspective: you are pretty damn attractive.
Thank you! Is this an Asian perspective as in, you are Asian; or an Asian perspective like I look "pretty damn attractive" among other Asians? Thanks for the very cheerful phrasing of your comment!

Why do a lot of nerds like Asian girls?
Asian Girls, why do you go for the Nerdy type?
What is the Allure & Mystery of younger women dating older men? Why is it frowned upon by so many people, especially the Religious crowd?
Big girls are actually better than "average" ones!
Re: "A coworker invited me out on a platonic lunch and didn't pay for all my food. Tell me how cheap he is and emotionally validate me, internet."
The sounds women make during sex are almost indistinguishable from distress.

Because Asian girls are very submissive and nerdy guys aren't manly. I know people will find this sexist but fuck it. Men should be in charge and in control in a relationship because we men are the leaders of our species, we're animals after all. Women are too emotionally unstable COMPARED to men so when a girl is in charge in a relationship it almost always goes belly up. Women need a stable rock to go to back and forth and also someone that won't put up with her bs when she's acting out due to being more emotional. Obviously, that's not all relationships and lots of women wear the pants in a relationship just fine. Basically whoever is the most emotionally stable should have the power in a relationship if someone must have the power (I personally believe no one should have more power and you should both be equals but realistically speaking this is rarely the case). Since women are not used to having the power role they also hate it because it feels unatural to them and hence why so many women break up with their bf's when this happens because they lose respect towards him as a MAN and once respect goes, attraction follows, and well then the relationship is doomed. Asian women come from a culture where they are supposed to be very submisssive. Now take your average nerdy guy who's into anime and all that shit. Do you think he's manly? Nope don't think so, most are just manchilds. Your average western woman has more balls than them and if they dated she'd be in charge. She'd be the one making all the first moves. Girls don't want that, they want the guy to make all the moves. However, take those nerdy guys and compare them to Asian women and Asian women are more submissive than those guys. Since they're more submissive the relationship dynamic works out because now the dude is "in-charge" as he should be. Same is true for super manly macho men who love being an authoritive figure. They love Asian women because it magnifies that feeling for them when compared to western women. Why do you think so many army guys married Asian women during wars? Also, there's obviously just your average joe who just finds Asian women to be extremely attractive.
also, no I don't have a thing for Asian women
For the most part, that whole "submissive" thing is total bullshit.
As a girl I totally agree with you. Men should be in the charge, at least, feel the power. In the western culture, feminists are gradually challenging that traditional idea. I don't like it at all. I d like to look up to my man and admire him from my heart if I meet the right guy. I d like to pick you as the most helpful opinion, but many people might not agree, so I just typed to you to show my appreciation to your opinion : )
I wouldn't say just nerds like Asian girls lots of people from all walks of life like them they're more feminine and submissive, shy and kinder and ones from Japan generally foreign guys interest them because they give them something a lot of Japanese guys can't or won't. They tend to stay young looking longer to and age generally better then most other races of people.
They aren't more submissive, wtf. Do you actually know any Asian girls irl?
@frozenhorizon Actually yes I do a few.
@frozenhorizon Well I'm not talking about Asians in the US I'm talking about Asians that actually live in their native countries. Obviously Asians living here in the US would be different due to the different culture they were born into or grew up in.
The ones I know did not grow up here, even though they live here now... maybe that still skews things because I guess submissive people would be less likely to leave their home country.
@frozenhorizon Fair enough and true.
I'm Asian and lemme think.. hmmmm I'm Korean-American, born in the USA, 100% Korean. I guess you could say I'm approached by nerds and other groups. I think lots of nerds like Asians because we are kinder in ways, gentle, sweet, cautious. Loyal is a big one and we try to stay honest. But I'm also pretty outgoing unlike the norm which is usually Asians being quiet and shy.
I think its because they see them in anime;cartoons and games (even porn.) Its like their fantasy come to life. I agree with them, they are pretty.
Less experience of getting rejected/laughed at/humiliated by girls from different countries. Perception that Asian girls are more open about being into games and nerd stuff. Most of it is just a case of imagining the best case scenario to substitute lack of knowledge.
IT's because they are incredibly hot, obviously. There's no logical explanation. I like Asian girls but I'm not really a nerd besides having a job as a programmer.
Probably because they watch too much anime, or play too many video games and the girls in the stuff they play and watch or even read in those japanese comics and books look very similar to Asian girls.
Because Asians have a bit of an eternal youth. Plus they tend to be cuter, be more into subjects that "nerds" relate to and just overall they are more gentle and kind
I'm a nerd, they're sweet, small and cute, submissive and loyal, I had an Asian girl once and I enjoyed every single moment with her.. apparently she broke up with me for being too nice? but I was never told personally which pisses me off to this day.. I see her everyday and I still get excited whenever she even comes close or notices me.. I don't really know why I like her
Because they don't get as fat as Hispanic, Black, and White girls.
why do lots of men like Asian women, not just nerds? nothing wrong with Asian women, im just saying, what makes men like them?
Asian girls are more open to nerdy things and natural gaming goddesses
Because they can't get white girls.
I'm not a nerd but a lot of Asian girls are cute
It's just not them even normal guys do

We love all our K-drama characters: whether they’re snobby chaebols, depressed second male leads, or characters that put the audience through so much secondhand embarrassment that you want to jump into a ravine.
But there are also a few K-drama archetypes that we absolutely adore — the bad boys, the sharp-tongued female leads who kick butt…and, of course, our favorite: lovable nerds. They add a special sort of spice to a K-drama, whether they come in a soft-spoken form that wears glasses or as the know-it-all that you can’t live with or without.
Any favorites come to mind? See if they’re on the list of the five K-drama nerds that hold a special place in our hearts:
Kim Soo Hyun as Do Min Joon in “ My Love From the Star ”
It’s hard not to love the Korean version of Superman, aka Do Min Joon ( Kim Soo Hyun ), in the all-time classic “My Love From the Star” — and just like Clark Kent, Min Joon has a nerdy side that manifests in the quirkiest and cutest ways. His odd and yet endearing tendency to break out into Joseon proverbs is just one example. And as a distinguished college professor with a cool and composed demeanor and a personal library full of his century-old journals, it’s not hard to see why Cheon Song Yi ( Jun Ji Hyun ) fell in love.
Min Joon’s stoic character is also what makes the progression of the show funnier and funnier, as we watch our perfect alien’s composure break in moments of very human jealousy, drunken mistakes, superpower mishaps, and plain old awkwardness.
Catch the first episode of “My Love From the Star” below:
In “Thumping Spike 2,” Han Da Woon ( Kim So Eun ) is a pretty college student with a soft and kind personality. Unlike her identical twin sister, Da Woon finds herself most comfortable curled up in a sweater with her nose in a book. However, her desire to get noticed by someone she likes drives her out of her comfort zone and into a friendship with the handsome volleyball player, Dong Hae Sung ( Lee Won Geun ).
With her cheerful demeanor, naive notions of love, and adorable glasses, Da Woon is one of those K-drama nerds that you wish you could turn into a cuddly teddy bear. It’s impossible not to follow her along on the journey as she develops new hopes and dreams, while also discovering that the person she loves might be closer than she thinks.
Watch the trailer for “Thumping Spike 2” below:
Kwan Ho Chang ( Lee Yoo Jin ), from “Age Of Youth 2,” is a classic nerd: awkwardly shy, very intelligent, and a little obsessive about the organization of his day. Yet these traits, combined with his good-heartedness, make up a sweet guy with an adorkable personality that’s difficult to not to smile at. Plus, his ability to construct a homemade taser is simply an awesome bonus.
Watch the trailer for “Age of Youth 2” below:
In “Queen In Hyun’s Man,” Kim Bung Do ( Ji Hyun Woo ) is the Joseon version of a nerd: a brilliant scholar living around the year 1694. Bung Do’s high IQ is tested when he finds himself thrown in chaotic and unfamiliar, modern-day Seoul.
It’s fascinating to watch Bung Do discover the ins and outs of 21st century Korean society through sheer brilliance; however, his character becomes truly admirable when he turns his intelligence towards something far more important: fighting his way through time to be with the modern girl he loves.
On a side note, we think that Do Min Joon (“My Love From Another Star”) and Bung Do could have a lot to talk to about!
Catch the first episode of “Queen In Hyun’s Man”:
Choi Taek ( Park Bo Gum ), from “Reply 1988,” could be considered the Korean equivalent of American chess nerds. As a genius Baduk player with national fame, Taek is known mostly to his childhood friends as innocently naive, quiet, and kind. It’s hard not to become just as protective of Taek as his friends are as we get to gradually see more and more of his silent smiles and sweet thoughts throughout the progression of this heartwarming show.
Catch the first episode of “Reply 1988”:
Who is your favorite nerd, Soompiers? Tell us in the comments below!
