Anime characters aren't ever easy to cosplay as, but these ten artists managed to hit a home run cosplaying as Bleach's teal cutie Nelliel.

Tite Kubo's hit animated series Bleach is all about Soul Reapers and the supernatural, and ordinary high schooler Ichigo Kurosaki becomes a substitute Soul Reaper to begin battling the forces of evil. Fast forward a few story arcs, and he is storming Hueco Mundo to rescue Orihime, and he makes an odd but charming friend along the way: Nel.
Nel is a young Arrancar, and, when Ichigo is cornered by the brutal Espada Nnoitora Gilga, Nel's true form emerges: her adult self, as a past Espada! Nel appears again later during the battle against the Wandenreich, and she has since become a fan favorite. What's not to like from her impressive combat power to her innocent personality and distinctive hollow mask? So, let's meet ten cosplayers who really brought Nelliel to life.
The first entry in this fine gallery features Nelliel in her adult form, basking in the sunlight as she poses for this shot. As an Espada, Nelliel has a powerful Zanpakuto named Gamuza, and she can even challenge the current—incredibly frightening—Espada with it.
This cosplayer not only mirrors Nelliel's sunny disposition with that setting, but she also gave Nel a brand new sword, like something out of Dark Souls, for a little variety. She can take on anyone with that thing.

For the second entry, it seems that a critical moment in the Hueco Mundo arc is being brought to life. Ichigo, who struggled against Nnoitora, couldn't believe his eyes when Nel transformed into a full-grown woman, complete with a Zanpakuto.
She swore to protect Ichigo as repayment for all he's done for her so far, and this cosplayer strikes a pose that suggests "let me protect you. Just stay there." With that camera angle and expression on her face, the message is clear: Nel is here to protect.

Hueco Mundo, being the world of hollows, certainly looks the part. As opposed to the pre-industrial Japanese setting of the Soul Society, Hueco Mundo is an endless night desert. Inside Las Noches, there's an artificial sun, but the sand dunes are still present.
Nelliel battled Nnoitora in Las Noches, and this cosplayer brings the scene to life with a fine desert background and the harsh glare of the desert sun. The colors are bleached and faded, matching the desert setting and the feel of Hueco Mundo.

Once Nel transformed into her adult body, Ichigo saw the "3" tattoo on her back, marking her as the former third Espada. She proved her might against Nnoitora, but, by now, there is another 3rd Espada around: Tier Halibel.
There can only be one, so these cosplayers imagined these Arrancars dueling for the coveted spot of third Espada! Which one of them is stronger? Both cosplayers are looking good, and Nel's mask and Halibel' sword prop are well made.

The fifth entry in this gallery brings us a cosplayer who wanted a new look for this character. Nel first appears wearing little more than a ragged cloak, as opposed to an Espada uniform, and this cosplayer wanted to refresh Nel's attire.
Now, Nel has black punk clothing that looks both tough and flirty, and it even adds a little color, with a pink belt. This cosplay is rounded out with a very realistic Zanpakuto prop and a highly detailed mask fragment on her head.

Nelliel, unlike most of the Espadas and Arrancars, is a friendly person who's always happy to make new friends. She bonded to Ichigo at once and even risked her life for him against Nnoitora. She learned to get along with Rukia and Renji, too.
Now, these cosplayers show off Nel and Rukia at their best: Nelliel in her released form—minus the javelin—and Rukia with her elegant, snow-white bankai. All this is set against the dark desert landscape of Hueco Mundo.

Maybe that's what they call it in Hueco Mundo? At any rate, Christmas is a romantic winter holiday in real-life Japan, and it's popular to cosplay anime characters who are getting in the holiday spirit. Why not include Bleach characters?
This cosplayer is 100% authentic Nelliel, from her blue-green wig and her mask to that cheery, innocent expression and her enthusiasm. That's a really nice Christmas tree, too, and, most likely, Nel volunteered to decorate the whole thing herself.

Nelliel is no longer a proper Espada, but, in flashbacks, the viewer finds out what kind of warrior she was. Good news: while tough, Nel was also compassionate, and she would never fight anyone without a good reason.
This set her apart from the thuggish Nnoitora and the scheming Szayelaporro, and Nel looked good in her Espada uniform, too. This cosplayer brings Nel's former glory to life in spectacular fashion, complete with a partially-drawn Zanpakuto and a photogenic background.

Now it's time for Nel to bring along another friend, or at least, an acquaintance. She and Grimmjow both survived the final battle against Sosuke Aizen, and they both appeared during the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, too.
Nel was friendlier to Ichigo than Grimmjow was, and, now, they have no one left to fight. Both of them wonder what lays in the future, and Nel looks a little more optimistic than Grimmjow does. What is she daydreaming about?

The Nel cosplay gallery wraps up with another unlikely duo: Nel, and her bitter rival Nnoitora. They were both Espadas, sure, but Nnoitora couldn't stand her, and Nel scorned him as being a beast rather than a warrior.
Today, though, Nel is in a good mood, and Nnoitora is having none of it. Being totally in character, he's grouchy and looks away, while Nel sits there, radiant and happy as ever. She even has the sun's warm rays right behind her, and, indeed, she's a ray of sunshine in a dark desert world.
