This movie can stand alone but it's definitely as funny as the first one.

The first "Neighbors" film was decent enough but it didn't seem to loan itself to a sequel. Surprisingly this flick is a logical progression from its predecessor. When we left the first film Mac and Kelly (Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne) were coming to grips with the fact that not only were they parents but that they had become their parents. When we're reintroduced to them in the follow up they are at peace with that revelation but it's their former adversary Teddy (Zak Efron) who is having an identity crisis of sorts. Should he join the hard partying sorority girls who torment Mac and Kelly or his one time nemesis? Teddy doesn't so much as make a choice but have it made for him. Meanwhile the girls have issues to sort out of their own. Should they be bimbos or independent of the frat boys even though they like to party like them? The film has a high raunch factor for sure including numerous shots of a toddler playing with her mommy's sex toys but there's also a certain profundity to the enterprise. The film basically says it's alright to grow up as long as you don't sell out. Chloe Grace Moretz is a welcome addition to the franchise if it turns out to be a franchise. Here's hoping that films producers don't milk a good thing and go out on a high note. "Hangover III", anyone?

Mac and Kelly are forced to team up with their ex-neighbor Teddy to stop Shelby and the ladies of Kappa Nu in order to restore the peace and make their move to the suburbs.
Now that Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Rose Byrne) have a second baby on the way, they are ready to make the final move into adulthood: the suburbs. But just as they thought they’d reclaimed the neighborhood and were safe to sell, they learn that the new occupants next door are a hard–partying, out-of-control sorority, led by Shelby (Chloe Grace Moretz). Mac and Kelly are forced to team up with their charismatic exneighbor and now secret weapon, Teddy (Zac Efron), since the ladies of Kappa Nu aren't going down without a fight.
