This park boasts that it is a family oriented campground but that couldn’t be further from the truth. We decided to take our kids here for their first foray into naturalism. What a mistake!! While the staff is amazing the owner of the park Stephane is anything but. We decided we wouldn’t force our kids to immediately get naked but rather let them do it at their own speed (they are 6 &8). The owner of the park told us to make them get naked or put them in the trailer, yet there were numerous adults fully clothed as well as staff the entire trip. Stephane not only was not understanding of our children but he had staff centre our children out and embarrass them thoroughly about the issue in front of other guests. At the same time all of this was going on there was an adult male who was taking pictures of children in the park. Stephane was not worried about that at all - but was worried about my child not being fully naked at all times ( my children did spend quite a bit of time naked). The gentleman taking pictures was allowed to remain at the campsite in all of the public areas but my child had to be in the trailer. More
We discovered Bare Oaks on our last full day rental of an RV and tour of Ontario otherwise we would have definitely stayed longer. Much longer. We've only ever been to naturist beaches and naked saunas before so this was really our first time at a naturist park. We de-robed before entering the office to book in and we were immediately welcomed very warmly to the park. Everyone was fantastic, staff and guests, and the facilities and things to do were plentiful. Particularly liked the gym and the whirlpool and the community pit fire in the evening not to mention the stout beer and bar! Thank you everyone at Bare Oaks, it was definitely one great highlight of our holiday and we hope to return soon. Highly recommended.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with others. We are very happy to see that our team and the facility that they maintain was worthy of a top rating!
Thought it would be awkward or embarrasing at first...adjusted within the first few minutes...turned out to be the most relaxing trips I have ever had..loved it! ..can't wait to go back...Such a feeling of freedom.......
Thanks for the great review Craig! Love the review title!! Very clever
Spending time here with our children has offered them much more of an understanding of respect for ones self and others then any school, organized grouo or institution could have ever. A true gem for young families and couples wanting to explore naturism without fear or pressure.
True naturism benefits the entire family - from 0 to 100 and every age in between. It is very satisfying for us to see people discover that. Thank you for sharing your experience!
If you love naturism in a very respecful environment, this is the place to visit. Summer time is the best but it’s open all year round. Friendly staff, clean facilities, nice pool and the lake area is fantastic. Coming back very soon
We are very appreciative that you enjoyed the hard work our team puts in to make this a special place for all who visit. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience!
What campsite can you think of that offers free firewood? Bare Oaks! People of all ages and backgrounds seem to go to Bare Oaks to relax and get away from the pressures of daily life. You will be treated with respect by members of the park and will probably be remembered when you go back. There are events throughout the year that I sometimes avoid if I don't want to be surrounded by energetic people, young and old who love to play volleyball, mini golf or canoe. My first polar bear swim in the frozen lake was very memorable, safely executed! On the special event days, it can feel like a carnival, and you don't have to worry about being restricted by the limitations of textiles. Staff will help you get used to the idea of being nude in public, and for those of you who love the freedom, this may be your paradise in Ontario. My only challenge to the owners is to add more vegetarian options to the menu, but visitors are welcome to bring their own food in a cooler.
Thank you Matthew for sharing your experience with others! Your review will help other discover the acceptance and simples pleasure that exists in naturism. We are continuously improving and expanding the restaurant as we grow. Thank you for the menu suggestion. We will definitely work on having more vegetarian and vegan options on the menu.

We took the Plunge and Went to a Nudist Swim
We, my husband and I, went to our first nudist swim yesterday evening. It was meant to be a one off so we coud say that we'd done it but we had such a good time we'll be going back again. We became curious about nudism on a holiday for my birthday last year. There was a sauna at the hotel and when we went to use it we found out that swimming costumes were not allowed, so we didn't go in. But it did get us thinking we should have just gone for it. So this weekend we finally did it after putting it off for weeks. The pool was lovely. I say pool but there was a sauna, a huge hot dry room and a steam room too and a small lounge with tea and coffe. We got a tour of all the rooms, with us in our clothes and regulars already using them au naturel. It felt strange being the only ones dressed! Then we were left to get ready. One of the reasons we had put it off for a few weeks was that neither of us have any body hair, and my husband has only just started removing his (on my birthday holiday!). We weren't sure how that would go down in nudist circles but during the introduction we noticed that only a handful of the regulars had any body hair, men and women, so we actually fitted in well So that eased our main concern, we undressed quickly before the bravado wore off (though I still felt a tiny bit nervous) and took the plunge. The facilities worked as beautifully as they looked and we were made to feel very welcome by the regulars. The difference between swimming in a costume and swimming naked is indescribable, but naked simply felt much better. We know now why the hotel sauna banned swimming costumes, the sauna last night was much more comfortable without a costume to trap sweat. If only we'd been brave enough to go for it on holiday!
Good for you, Shona! We were born au naturel.....so why the hell not?x Heaven has one extra special shining star [emoji93] 01/12/17
Yes, we are all born au naturel. It was a great feeling being nude socially with others too. I think my husband was more nervous than me until he saw he'd have looked more out of place if he had kept his pubes tbh. So his birthday stunt was worth it lol. I'd recommend you give nudist swims a try if you havent already. Now we're thinking of a nudist break in the summer, if we can find somewhere suitable. We're hooked!

We found the swim on the British Naturism website. There are loads across the country so you shoud be able to find one near you.
Dan B, did you find a swim and try it out? We've been back a few times since last month and thoroughly enjoy it.

I know this is an old thread but it's the only one suitable. We had to put our nudist break on hold last year because my husband took not well and it was a long recovery, though we did manage to enjoy some nude time in our garden instead. But that's behind us now, he's fully recovered and we're planning it all again now, so we're lookng for a UK resort that has a nude beach nearby - Studland in Dorset looks promising. Fingers crossed.
The only time I've gone for a naked swim, was with a female friend and our partners on holiday, one night after consuming a lot of alcohol. It was fun, but what was even more fun, was my friend and I stealing our partners' clothes, leaving them with a ten-minute walk back to where we were staying, before locking them out for a few minutes! I can recommend doing both things, lol.

Of course, letting them back in is optional, lol....

Studland is near me. Its bit of an odd one to be honest. It has the nudist section of the beach, but its restricted to between two signs and although there is nothing to stop you walking to the sea in the nude, the actual nudist bit is up in the dunes so a bit tucked away. As soon as you leave either side of the sign posts, its clothes on. You could easily stay in Swanage and pop to Studland, or stay Poole/Sandbanks and then pop over on the chain link ferry. You can then drive to Studlqnd car park and walk back to the nudist stretch of the beach.
Thanks for that Nicola, we're going to stay in Swanage. We've been told the ferry queue at Sandbanks can be quite long so we want to avoid that. I thought the whole section of the beach between the signs was naturist, not just the dunes? We'll find out when we get there, I suppose. All we need now is the weather to play its part.
