On January 12th, everyone is encouraged to find their favorite redhead and give them a peck on Kiss a Ginger Day. Smooch (or call, or text, or yodel expressively) your favorite gingers, and thank them for being in your life. You can give a peck to your favorite red-haired person only with their consent of course! Even if both the parents are red-haired there is only a 1 in 4 probability of having a red-haired child. Fortunately, there are some kind, open-minded souls willing to take action to defend the Ginger nation. In 2021 it was long unsure whether the event could take place, due to COVID-19. The second event was organised in 2007, in and around the main church of Breda. The episode of the controversial cartoon centred around a fictional event Kick a Ginger Day and sparked off a spate of bullying incidents. It was the brainchild of organiser Derek Forgie, who was eager to create a positive event around the subject of redheads.
