Forgie felt compelled to create the event in direct response to an episode of South Park. This is literally the only time on my trip where I felt like I was in any sort of danger. Oh, and the Chinese really like fireworks… The goal for the evening was to go and catch the National Day fireworks display. In 2011, Adrienne and Stephanie Vendetti wanted people to be proud of their red hair in response to negative posts on a Kick a Ginger Day site. Their hair holds on to pigment better than any other color, so even when it fades silver-white instead of grey or dull. People with red hair were once held to be holy, as it was believed that they had stolen the very fire of the Gods and imbued their crimson locks with it. In what will be our inaugural Ginja Fest, we're encouraging you to gather your red headed friends and get down to the brewery for a night of ginja fun including prizes for best dressed ginja, best ginja locks and best imitation ginja.
