"She was there to sell makeup, but the father saw more — she had style, she had flair!"
See what Fran, Maxwell, and the rest of this lovable '90s gang is up to.
With her distinctively thick Queens accent, lovable mannerisms, and voluminous hair , this New York-born actress was the perfect pick for Fran Fine, the title character in this family comedy.
Since her days playing the world's funniest babysitter, Drescher has starred in both live action and animated hits including Hotel Transylvania and Shark Bait . And proving she still has a penchant for patterns, she loves to rock dresses in funky prints and bold designs, like this chic leopard dress.
British actor Charles Shaughnessy portrayed handsome, widowed Broadway producer Maxwell Sheffield, giving TV one of its first silver foxes .
Continuing his career on the small screen, Shaughnessy has appeared on big-name TV shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , Mad Men , and CSI: NY . He's also lent his lovely voice to the video game industry, playing characters in games including Freelancer and White Knight Chronicles .
This Oklahoma-born actress joined the cast as Chastity Claire "C.C." Babcock, Maxwell's less-than-likable business partner and unsuccessful love interest.
While Lane returned to TV to hang with her old costars in 2004 for The Nanny Reunion: A Nosh to Remember and The Fran Drescher Show , she's mostly stayed out of the film and TV industry. She's primarily doing theater and teaching nowadays, lecturing full-time about acting at Texas State University.
Putting on an English accent for the role, American actor portrayed the Sheffields' no-nonsense butler Niles. His ability to play an upper class British fellow was so spot-on, you would never knew he grew up in Arkansas!
These days, Davis can be spotted more on the stage than on the television. He recently came off of a Broadway stint, having appeared in a revival of "Noises Off" at the Roundabout Theatre in New York City.
Child actress Nicholle Tom was already experienced in the biz by the time she got to The Nanny at age 15, having already played roles in Beethoven , Beethoven's 2nd , Beverly Hills, 90210 , and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air . It's fitting that this acting veteran played the eldest Sheffield sibling Maggie.
On top of being known for her role on The Nanny , Tom has voiced Kara Kent, a.k.a. Supergirl, in numerous DC Comics TV productions, as well as appearing in a number of shows like Without a Trace , Castle , and Gotham .
Playing mischievous middle child Brighton Sheffield, Benjamin Salisbury was cast on The Nanny at the youthful age of 13. And hey — did anybody notice just how much this adorable boy looks like a young Ryan Gosling ?
Since playing Brighton, Salisbury hasn't been acting quite as much as his costars, though he did appear Numb3rs in 2005 and the short film On the Brink in 2006.
Rounding out the cast as Grace, the oh-so-adorable youngest Sheffield kid, was child actress Madeline Zima. Remarkably, this wasn't even the 8-year-old's first big role — she started her career at age 2 (!) in a Downey fabric softener commercial.
Now in her 30s, Zima has enjoyed a successful career on television, appearing for four years alongside David Duchovny in the Showtime series Californiacation , as well as in two seasons of Heroes .

No good deed goes unpunished. Babysitting can either end up being the most fun job you’ve ever had or a complete disaster. And a lot of that depends on the kid that you’re looking after’s behavior. If you’re not a professional nanny and simply helping out your neighbors, then your kind act can end up creating a lot of unintentional drama. And that’s exactly what happened to redditor Jointfamily.
Jointfamily, a lawyer, agreed to babysit her neighbors’ 11-year-old daughter, Rhea, while they went and got vaccinated. She also made it very clear that she’d have to be in a virtual courtroom for a hearing at 1:30 pm. However, things went wrong as the parents ran late. The girl ruined Jointfamily’s clothes. But instead of getting an apology from the parents, the redditor was instead threatened with a lawsuit. Though things took an unexpected twist later on in the story. Check out the full tale below and let us know who you think was in the wrong here: the redditor or the parents?
Though things seemed very tense at one point (hey, even the resident’s association got involved!) everything eventually worked out. Maybe not in the fairytale way that we might have wanted with everyone living happily ever after, but it’s enough of a win to remind us that not everyone’s a jerk.
Rhea’s mom apologized to the lawyer who agreed to babysit for them later on and even treated her to some food as a way to apologize. Meanwhile, redditor Jointfamily promised not to take any legal action against the family for her ruined clothes. Though, to be fair, she also said that she wouldn’t help her neighbors out with any babysitting anymore either.
In a way, the story teaches us two things that we should keep in mind no matter the situation. First, punctuality is everything. Nothing would have happened to the redditor’s clothes, had her parents got back home on time. And second—food _always_ works as an apology. There’s nothing like a good meal or a snack to sway your mind and your heart (through your stomach) toward forgiveness.

"Alone.. anything can happen" Here in Finland most of the 11 old children walks alone from school to back home and stays alone doing homeworks etc while parents are at work .
It's the same pretty much anywhere. I stayed alone in the house when I was about that age.
It really depends on the family. I was never really alone until I was 15yo and my parents never let me spent a night alone until I was 20. Ridiculous I know.
Same in scotland. I had my own key and got in from high school before everyone else. Was alone for a couple hours some nights.
My sister and I walked to school when we were 5 and 6 years old. Lot's of kids did at that age, the closer they lived to the school the younger they started to walk on their own. Ok, granted, back then it was pretty close, lots of parents on the same sidewalk and the bikebath right next to it, hardly any cars and none where we walked until we got to right in front of the school where adults would help us cross. You can't have them do that today. But that's not because kids are stupid,
