Nancy Pelosi proposes a bill to repeal the 1st Amendment

Since the pandemic, the amount of disinformation has skyrocketed, from vaccines to climate change hoaxes. Now, the congresswoman Nancy Pelosi proposes a bill that removes the protections of the 1st Amendment, thus allowing the government to tackle disinformation, fake news, and hate speech.

Pelosi is not alone: Big Tech executives Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai, Jeff Bezos, Satya Nadella, Parag Agrawal, and Tim Cook have shown support for the permanent removal of the 1st Amendment.

Disinformation is a serious threat to our democracy, and obstacles like the 1st Amendment are protecting propagandists while millions of people are dying because of fake news.

Disinformation is no joke, fake news have been killing people literally, and the authors of such news don't even feel remorse for the deadly consequences of their actions.
Moreover, hate speech is rampant in our country, hate speech has been responsible for the death of million of marginalized Americans, and the 1st Amendment is protecting those who spur hate to minorities.

We can only thrive as a nation if we repeal the 1st Amendment, so we can enact laws against disinformation, fake news, and hate speech.

Alongside Big Tech, former president Barack Obama and former-VP Joe Biden have shown support for the bill. We have asked Obama for an opinion about Pelosi's proposal; however, Biden has been silent about the issue.

We the Democratic Party are proud and grateful for Pelosi's efforts to tackle one of the biggest roadblocks to a truthful and honest democracy. The 1st Amendment was enacted in a time where Internet did not exist, times has changed and the 1A is doing more harm than good to our society.

Once the 1st Amendment is repealed, we can finally introduce bills that curb fake news and hate speech, like the Protection Against Disinformation and Fake News Act (PADFN Act), the Eradication of Hate and Defamation Act (EHD Act), the Fight Against Climate Change Denial Act (FACCD Act), Voter Integrity Protection Against False Fraud Claims Act (VIPAFFC Act), and last but not least, the Uniting and Strengthening America by Protecting the Chinese Communist Party Against Defamation Act (USA PCCPAD Act).

This year alone, the Fortune 500 companies have invested billions of dollars in lobbying to help Pelosi repeal the 1st Amendment for good.
