Namio Harukawa is considered to be one of the greatest femdom artist of all time. He is known for his drawings of dominant women sitting on the faces of defeated men. The women are generously proportioned and their rounded figures overwhelm the small men.
There is only a small amount of biographical detail about him on the Internet. Some pages claim he is dead. Some that he is still alive. There is even a dispute over his age. One Wikipedia entry has him born in 1932, while another Wikipedia page claims he was born in January 1947, in the Osaka Prefecture. Whatever the facts about this elusive and mysterious artist, his work has grown from underground cult status in the 1960s to a large reverential international market.

I covered the sad passing of Namio Harukawa in April of 2020. One year later, it seems an appropriate to return to his work and celebrate it again.
AnOther magazine has published a new article on him, inspired by a new book of his work coming from Baron. If you’d like a regular dose of his art, then Homer’s twitter feed is a good one to follow. Finally, I covered the Namio inspired music video Dripping in a past post, but I feel it deserves highlighting again. It starts slow, but the final third is really something.
I found this Namio drawing via a tweet from Homer. The translated title would be ‘Summer Memories’.

I wish I had more time to enjoy his art. My hubwife was really into it and shared some stuff with me and I grew to like it. It actually helped me be a bit more creative, adding a few more options to my FLR tool box
He definitely was an artist with a pretty clear focus. His style and themes were unmistakable. However, it they do overlap with your interests, I can imagine they would be inspiring on the creative front. He definitely explored every element of the kinks he enjoyed!

Thank you for posting Eric Wareheim’s refined music video! I’ve been hoping for years to see a thoughtful, quaint video work which understands and honors femdom not just as a fantasy but also as an elegant expression of love which ought to be respected and promoted.
Namio’s passing leaves a huge void, but Wareheim’s masterful song brings the signular artist back to life. I hope to see more productions like it.

Glad you enjoyed the video! It’s rare to find this kind of ‘mainstream’ (non-porn at least) work that really does seem to understand and honor femdom in this way. I’m not holding my breath to see more like it, but it’d be wonderful if there were.
