We’ll take things in a different direction, dissecting candid photos of players revealing too much on the court.
In the late 1800s, volleyball first came to fruition over in Massachusetts. As of 1964, it was officially recognized as an Olympic sport. Nowadays, courts aren’t too hard to come by, especially in warmer climates. We can say the same for tournaments and leagues, which are very easy to access as well. The sport continues to grow in popularity, its rise continues today.
In this article, we’ll take things in a different direction, dissecting candid photos of players revealing too much on the court. We take a look at pictures taking place on the sandy beaches along with indoor venues. In both cases, the female beauties might’ve revealed more than they would’ve liked. Those darn candid pics truly have no remorse!
Ah yes, we see this time and time again in the world of volleyball. A little butt slapping as a way of encouragement.
Not only that, but this picture takes place in the warm conditions out on the beach, meaning the gals are also wearing some revealing attire. We definitely want to be part of that team.
This volleyball player has us in a trance. Once again, some of the more revealing wardrobes and uniforms take place out in the sand. It is wise to wear this type of attire, it’ll only add to a player’s mobility on the court.
Perhaps she has a little sand stuck in a not so PG area, hence the hand placement that has teens all over the world drooling just a little bit.
Not only is she regarded among the greatest beauties of the game but Fernandez is just as talented as she is beautiful.
She rose to popularity, particularly for her stunning look. When she takes the court in-doors, Winifer’s always turning heads, rocking those signature short-shorts we see in the picture above.
This picture looks like a dream come true for some viewers watching at home.... this stunning volleyball star is probably thinking otherwise. She’s covered in sand from-head-to-toe, likely this went down after she tried to save a ball.
In fairness, we’d much rather dive in the sand than take a beating on the hard floor in a gym setting.
A beauty and a champion of the game, in truth, we’re salivating over that lower body tattoo.
From Nebraska, she became part of the All-Region team in 2000 and 2001. She would also take part in the NORCEA Circuit in Guatemala, coming in fifth in the doubles action alongside partner Renee Cleary.
The candid photos are the pics that really tend to reveal a little too much. The players normally aren’t ready for these types of photos – they can get snapped at any moment and in truth, the media tends to pick the worst possible times.
We can’t say the same for this photo, a job well done that’s for sure.
Who can forget the days of playing volleyball during gym time? It was great fun, at least for most. The sport requires a lot of focus, if you were staring at someone sitting on the sidelines, chance are you ate a ball to the face.
That’s not the case with this player who looks more than ready for the serve.
Outdoor volleyball typically features women rocking bathing suit bottoms. Yes, it has us drooling but the indoor uniform isn’t too shabby either, as evidenced by the photo above.
The picture shows these two beauties in a candid picture, rocking those revealing blue colored shorts. Without a doubt, they’re putting in the work on and off the court.
This photo went absolutely viral and it isn’t hard to understand why. Winifer lays down on that cold ground but all we see is absolute heat coming out of this photo, especially given her not so PG stance.
Clearly, she’s putting in the work, especially when it comes to lower body day at the gym. Never skip leg day, girls and boys.
We admire this player from Turkey and their devotion to keeping the play alive. Let’s think back to our days in the gym, there was always that one person that wouldn’t take that extra plunge for a ball, instead, staring at it as it hit the ground.
That person usually got picked last – unlike this Turkish beauty that probably got picked first all the time.
This female volleyball player must really love the sport. Not only is she saving the ball while diving on the sand but she’s also doing so while sporting a smile from ear to ear.
That’s really what it is all about, having fun while keeping positive and doing what you love.
This team doesn’t need the warm condition of the outdoors in order to rock bathing suit bottoms.
Oddly enough, they rock the attire in the indoor setting. It does look a little bit odd but hey, most aren’t complaining one bit. The tactic looks as though it is working, the team is all smiles in the candid picture and so are we.

Nonetheless, we applaud her glute work, and that lower back tattoo is a big added bonus as well.
Outdoor volleyball can definitely change anyone’s skin tone – especially on those hot and humid days.
Just playing in the sun for a couple of hours can make anyone feel as though they’ve been on vacation for over a week, especially when it is by the water – like the player in the photo above.

As the popularity of beach volleyball grew around the globe, many stars began to emerge.

Sand or beach volleyball was invited back in 1915 on the majestic shore of Waikiki Beach, Hawaii. By 1924, inter-club contest were being held in places like California. By the time 1996 rolled around, the sport had been officially added to the Summer Olympic Games and thus garnered mainstream attention.
As the popularity of the sport grew around the globe, many stars began to emerge. Female players like Gabrielle Reece, Misty May-Treanor, and Kerri Walsh Jennings have become some of the most popular athletes in the world.
Despite its popularity, the sport has also received some criticism for skimpy uniforms which are commonly associated with the game’s female competitors.
Some of the more culturally conservative countries believe that the skin tight bikinis, which often leave little to the imagination, are inappropriate. That being said, competitors like Olympian Holly McPeak have told outlets (such as ABC news) that they prefer the bikinis, which she said are practical for a sport played in the sand in the hottest months of the summer.
The appropriateness of bikinis in beach volleyball is certainly up for debate. However, one thing that isn’t debatable, is that the women wearing them often look smoking hot.

6-foot-3 beach volleyball legend Kerri Walsh Jennings is one of the greatest competitors to ever set foot on the sand. She captured a gold medal in three consecutive Olympic Games from 2004 through 2012. Her gorgeous blonde hair and upbeat personality have earned her the nickname, “Six Feet of Sunshine.” The 39-year-old native of Santa Clara, California has won well over $2.5 million in prize money over the course of her career thus far.
Jennings shows of her impressive 6-foot-3 frame in this stunning black bikini. The Californian displays the type of physique that requires countless hours of training in order to obtain. The Olympic star’s model like figure, combined with her remarkable accomplishments in the sport of women’s beach volleyball, has helped to make her a mainstream sports star.
Marketa Slukova (pictured on the left) is widely considered to be the greatest female beach volleyball player the Czech Republic has ever produced. The 5-foot-11 blonde, who originally hails from Prague, has won three FIVB gold medals and a bronze medal as well. The 29-year-old was also named beach volleyball’s top rookie back in 2010.
Kristyna Kolocova (seen on the right) is another outstanding player from the Czech Republic. She is also 29 years of age and was born in Nymburg. She achieved her greatest success when she was paired with Slukova at the 2012 Summer Games.
The two blonde beauties qualified for group C in the Summer Olympics, which were held in London in 2012. They placed 5th overall and were defeated by Jennifer Kessy and April Ross of the United States.
Originally from La Jolla, San Diego California, U.S. Gabrielle “Gabby” Reece was arguably beach volleyball's first female star. Reece had an outstanding career in the 1990s and won numerous awards during the decade. She was named the league’s (WBVL) best blocker in 1993 and was the Offensive Player of Year during the 1994-95 season.
While Gabrielle Reece was without question an outstanding volleyball player, her undeniable beauty certainly helped to heighten her profile. She has modeled for several magazines over the years including Outside Shape and Elle, the latter of which named her one of the five most beautiful women in the world in 1989. In fact, the 6-foot-3 stunner even posed for Playboy back in 2001. She is married to professional surfer Laird Hamilton and has two daughters.
Misty-May Treanor is the Michael Jordan of women’s beach volleyball. When she retired from the sport back in 2012, she had captured 112 individual championships, which is the most by any female player. The 5-for-9 brunette who was born in Los Angeles, California was the face of women’s volleyball throughout much of her career. Her star power and undeniable sex appeal helped to land her a spot as a cast member on the hit reality television series, Dancing with the Stars. In 2004 she married (now retired) professional baseball player, Matt Treanor. The couple has one daughter, and they currently reside in Coral Springs, Florida.
This uniform definitely serves to highlight the volleyball icons toned, athletic physique as she poses for this promotional photo. The image proves that strong can indeed be sexy.
At just 22 years of age, Lithuanian volleyball starlet Monika Povilaityte has established herself as one of the bright young stars in the sport. During her 2011 campaign, she took the gold at the European U18 Championship. In 2012 she won a gold medal at the World Youth Championships. That very same year, she also captured a bronze medal at the European U20 Championships. These days she often competes with her partner, fellow Lithuanian, Ieva Dumbauskaite. In fact, the two ladies were nominated for Lithuanian Sports Person of the Year in 2014. However, they would end up losing to a couple of rowers named Donata Vistartaite and Milda Valkiukaite.

Rachel Wacholder Scott first rose to prominence back in 2005 when (along with her partner Elaine Youngs) she defeated the legendary duo of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings at the Huntington Beach Open. Volleyball experts consider her to be one of the few players who was able to hang with (and even defeat) the team of May-Treanor and Walsh Jennings. However, despite winning five events with Youngs, the two athletes parted ways in 2006. Interestingly enough, the reason for the break up was never made public. She would go on the pair with another well-known star in Jen Kessy.
At 5-foot-8, Scott she is actually somewhat short by pro volleyball standards. That being said, she is clearly able to pack quite a bit of beauty into her relatively small frame, as one can see from this photo.
Shauna Mullin (pictured on the left) is a British beach volleyball player who also competed in indoor volleyball. The 5-foot-10 blonde is currently 32 years of age. Mullin is best known for her appearance at 2012 Olympic Games where she represented her home country in London
Zara Dampney was born Christchurch, Dorset back in June of 1986. She is 5-foot-10 and among the most beautiful athletes that England has ever produced. Like her partner Mullin, the tall beauty is also best known for her appearance at the 2012 Summer Games.
While the two ladies weren’t able to qualify from Group F at the Olympic Games, they did make it to the lucky loser match. Unfortunately, for Mullin and Dampney at least, they were defeated by a team from Austria.
Becchara Palmer (the woman lying down the photo) is a 29-year-old Australian beach volleyball player who competed in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. The 6-foot-tall Aussie star shows off her long slender physique in this breathtaking photo. In 2018, Palmer will be attempting to transition her career into a different sport. In June of 2017, she signed to play with the Adelaide Football Club. As a result, she is a part of the 2018 Australian Rules Football League rookie list.
Louise Bawden (the blonde in a sitting position) is a 36-year-old Australian who represented her country in both the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games. The gorgeous 6-foot-tall blonde is among the most beautiful athletes her country has ever produced.
The team of Palmer and Bawden had little success at the 2012 Olympic Games and failed to qualify for the pool stages. However, Bawden would go on to make it to the quarterfinal in 2016 with a different partner.
27-year-old Marta Menegatti is one of Italy’s hottest beach volleyball players in more ways than one. The 5-foot-11 brunette is a two-time Olympian who competed in both the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics.
The native of Rovigo, Italy teamed up with Greta Cicolair for the 2012 Games and had a very good showing. They won three matches in group F, before ultimately losing in the quarter finals to the Americans Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor.
Menegatti would return to the Olympic Games in 2016 and was originally supposed to team with fellow Italian Victoria Orsi. However, Orsi was unable to compete in the games, allegedly due to the use of a banned substance. Laura Giombini stepped in as a last-minute replacement. The pair made it to the round-of-16 before once again being eliminated by Walsh Jennings, this time with her new partner April Ross.
Doris Schwaiger, at 32 years of age, is the eldest of the Austrian duo known as the Schwaiger Sisters. She is 5-foot-8 and played with her sister Stefanie Schwaiger from 2002 until announcing her retirement in May of 2014.
Stefanie Schwaiger is youngest of the two sisters and is currently 31-years-old. At an even 6-feet-tall, Stefanie is the larger of the two women. The Schwaiger sisters competed in both the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics.
While they were never able to capture an Olympic medal, the sisters played well in both games. In 2008 the Austrians finished 5th overall after losing to Wang Jie and Tian Jia of China in the quarter finals. In 2012 they were once again finished 5th, after being eliminated by another team from China, Xue Chen, and Zhang Xi.
Katrin Holtwick (shown on the right) is one of the best things to come out of Germany since beer and bratwurst. The 5-foot-9 beauty has captured numerous FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour medals over the course of her impressive career. The native of Berlin, Germany has won an eye-popping two FIVB gold medals as well as five silvers from 2008 to 2014. She is arguably best known internationally for her playing in the 2012 Olympics.
Aachen, Germany’s Ilka Semmler (pictured on the left) stands at 6-feet tall and is a great beauty in her own right. She is has teamed with Katrin Holtick since 2012. The two teamed together during the 2012 Games in London.
Sadly, their Olympic experience didn’t last long. They were eliminated in the 1st round by fellow Germans Laura Ludwig and Sara Goller.
Anyone who has watched women’s beach volleyball, for any length of time, likely knows the names, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings. The duo is without question one of the greatest teams ever assembled.
The two women first teamed up back in 2001. They spent two years on FIVB tour before signing with AVP in 2003. They went 39-0 in their first AVP season and were named “Team of the Year.”
Walsh Jennings and May-Treanor are best known for dominating the Olympic Games from 2004-2012. During that span, they captured three gold medals and established themselves as the greatest team in Olympic history. After the team captured their 3rd gold in the 2012 games, May-Treanor announced her retirement from the sport. Walsh Jennings would go on the capture a bronze medal with her new partner April Ross in the 2016 Olympic Games.
5-foot-11 Laura Ludwig (on the left) is among the greatest female athletes the country of Germany has ever produced. The 31-year-old blonde captured the World Championship in Vienna this year (2017). She spent the early portion of her career paired with Sara Goller (pictured on the right side of the photo) and appeared in the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games. They finished 9th overall in 2008 and were eliminated in the quarterfinal round in 2012. Ludwig would return to the Olympics in 2016 with a new partner Kira Walkenhorst. This time the German team would go all the way and capture Olympic gold in Rio de Janerio.
Sara Goller is a retired German volleyball player who made a name for herself in the Olympic games back in 2008 and 2012 respectively. The 5-foot-11 beauty also captured several European Championships over the course of her career.
Jennifer “Jen” Kessy is an American who originally hails from San Juan Capistrano, California. The gorgeous 6-foot-tall blonde has had numerous partners over the course of her career. She has paired with big names like Rachel Wacholder, Holly McPeak, and Jenny Pavley. However, she is probably best known for teaming with April Ross from 2007 to 2013.
