Pamela Fraser says she has "never been worried about what I look like"
People enjoy an earlier swimming event organised by British Naturism

"At my first event, I slung a towel over my shoulder and went down for breakfast - naked."
Events organiser Pamela Fraser, 27, went to her first naturism event 14 months ago. She's been to 20 since.
Spa days, archery, yoga, cider-tasting and even a Fawlty Towers-themed night with actors playing Basil, Sybil and Manuel - all without an item of clothing in sight.
She describes the first time she got naked at a large gathering as a "non-event', adding "you soon realise people aren't interested in what you look like."
On Saturday, she'll join around 300 others of all ages, paying up to £21 for a skinny dip at Blackpool's Sandcastle Water Park.
"It's no different to going swimming with your costume on," Pamela believes. "A lot of female costumes don't hide much anyway."
"The whole idea is you're stepping back from the stress of life and the feeling that you have to fit into a certain mould."
"You wouldn't take your work clothes with you when you go on holiday and when you go home you probably get changed.
"Sometimes I get in from work and take all my clothes off - that's me saying this is now my free time."
Pamela is one of 9,000 people who pay about £44 a year to be members of the British Naturism (BN) organisation.
It offers advice and support and organises days out and festivals - including NudeFest, NKD and Nudestock - across the UK.
Pamela had always found it "more comfortable" to be nude at home but began going to events after spotting a BN magazine while at work.
"Everyone looked so happy - it was really inviting and it looked like there was so much going on. I thought, 'How have I got to 25 and not heard about this?'"
"There are some people who think nudity and bottoms are really funny. But I think laughing at someone who has nothing on is rude."
Upcoming trips include two more swimming days in Stoke-on-Trent and Poole, naked-dining near Stevenage, a pétanque tournament in Norwich and a two-hour boat trip in Scotland.
But Saturday's swim has caused concern for some.
About 50 people signed a petition calling for Saturday's swim to be cancelled or to be made over-18s only. Children, it said, would be "at risk of being subject to abuse by sex offenders who may slip into the organisation unnoticed".
One self-employed woman who plans to go to the event says she has no concerns about taking her children.
The 38-year-old - who asked not to be named - said: "I do understand where people are coming from in asking 'how can it be safe?'. It's just like any area of life, you always want to protect your children.
"But some don't have an understanding of the community. I've never once been worried about anything. When you're in something, it can often be very different to what others might perceive from the outside."
Her family found naturism about eight years ago, she says, when they accidentally ended up on a nudist beach on holiday. After enjoying the "relaxed atmosphere" they were keen to find similar experiences elsewhere abroad and, finally, in the UK.
"The girls love the swimming events - the queues are much better than if you go on another day, " she said, speaking ahead of Saturday's swim.
"There are some times when my daughter might say she wants to wear her bikini bottoms - and that's fine of course. Then she gets there and they decide she doesn't need them. It's their choice to go naked if they want to but, if not, that's also fine."
And she thinks there might be an even greater benefit than queue-jumping.
"My eldest daughter's friends are becoming more concerned about what they look like but she says she doesn't. That really touches me as a parent: that she hasn't really taken on that societal body-conscious stuff.
"How can naturism not have influenced that?"
BN event organiser Mark Walsh says many new members are introduced to the group through other events aimed at "free and earthy" vegans, yoga fans and camping enthusiasts.
"Some of our events are open to non-members, which brings in new people," he said. "Otherwise we just do marketing the same as any other organisation - but mainly in nudist circles."
On Saturday the group will also attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most people on a rollercoaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The record was set in Southend in August 2010.
People can join on the day but are asked to sign-up via the website in advance.
"Our members are our life-blood," says Mr Walsh. "And when they get a crazy new idea, it's my job to make it happen."

I grew up in a heteronormative house where the rules of nudity were simple and unspoken: Mom could be nude in front of me and my sister. Mom could be nude in front of dad. Mom could never be nude in front of all of us at the same time, and mom could never, ever be nude in front of my brother. Period.
To be clear, we weren't taught to be ashamed of our bodies. I can recall watching in horror on more than one occasion as my mom walked naked through a women's locker room. But there was a clear gender distinction that existed for as long as I can remember, and I followed those rules for most of my adolescence.
My wife, Sam, grew up in a house where anyone could — and would — walk around naked . The first time I stayed with Sam's family, her brother, a teen at the time, came running naked into her bedroom with his penis flopping around. "Oh my God," I squealed as I yanked the covers over my head. I hadn't seen my own brother naked since we were in diapers, and I preferred it that way.
Now we are raising our two sons to love their bodies, and that includes running around naked in the house.
Sam and I were raised on opposite sides of the nudity spectrum and, oddly, after meeting in college, I became the one more likely to disrobe in front of others. After I gave birth to our first son, Sam bonded by taking showers with him. Skin to skin, she would wrap her slippery arms around his little body as the water rained gently on their heads. I would be perched on top of the toilet in a panic that he might slide through her arms as she lathered them both.
Now our boys are 5 and 2. The little one is constantly being reminded to get his hands out of his diaper. "Bye-bye penis," we say. He lifts up our shirts and says "boobies," any chance he gets.
At their age, we're focused on teaching them that bodies have boundaries and that you need permission to touch someone else, but we also let them run around free — and naked — in our home. Sam and I do the same. Well, we don't usually run around naked, but we do change and bathe in front of them. Our home is our comfort zone. It's a place where none of the outside rules of the world apply.
I'm not so naive as to think there won't ever come a time when our boys won't want to see their mom's nude bodies, or that they won't want us to see theirs. For now, we want to encourage curiosity and questions instead of embarrassment and shame. There's no shortage of shame waiting for them in the future, especially in our society of stigma, where we're taught to cover up and hide our bodies and their imperfections.
For as long as I am able, I want to provide a haven for my children, a place where they can be the wild little creatures that they are, where they will be told that their bodies are beautiful, and taught to exhibit body positivity rather than shame.
In our home, penis and vagina are not bad words. They are parts of who we are.
Sometimes we lament that they're growing up too fast, but when our boys no longer want to hop in the shower with moms, we'll be there to respect and celebrate their autonomy.

A stripper has gone viral on social media after claiming she danced naked in front of her own brother at his bachelor party.
The wild story was relayed by the exotic entertainer — known only as Kendra — in a TikTok posted May 15 that has since clocked upwards of 10 million views.
“I ended up being the stripper at my brother’s bachelor party and I didn’t realize until I was completely nak3d,” the dancer, whose handle is @kendradollx , wrote in text overlaying the video.
Kendra did not explain where or when the purported party occurred, but the brunette beauty has previously revealed that she works at a strip club “in the south.”
The TikTok in question has since sparked fierce debate, attracting hundreds of commenters apparently skeptical of the entertainer’s tawdry tale.
“I would’ve noticed all my brother’s friends and most definitely my brother,” wrote one woman below the contentious clip.
“Things that never happened: this,” as another detractor bluntly put it.
Others leapt to Kendra’s defense, sympathizing that they could only imagine how embarrassing the incident must have been.
“Do y’all realize how dark it is in those places?” one user snapped back at the social media cynics.
The Post has contacted Kendra to request further details about her erotic dancing disaster.
Yet another faction of commenters claimed karma was to blame for the groom-to-be having his sister show up as the stripper at his bachelor party, arguing that he shouldn’t have been ogling other women before his wedding.
“Strippers at bachelor parties is so weird to me. No shame to strippers at all, but I would never be okay with my boyfriend looking at a girl like that,” one asserted.
Kendra is the latest figure to go viral on TikTok by recounting a wild story that took place inside a strip club.
In March, California real estate agent Missy Peterson shocked her boyfriend of two years by secretly placing a tracker on his car, following him to a strip club and hopping onto its stage, where she then executed a devastatingly sexy stunt.
A TikTok testimonial detailing her saucy showcase has garnered more than 5 million views.
“I got onstage in a bra and thong that one of the strippers gave me, walked up to him and said, ‘Oh, you want a show? I’ll give you a show,’ ” Peterson, 40, told The Post of her X-rated exploit — which ultimately earned her $100 in tips.
