2020, What was all that about? It’s been a crazy old year all over the World and back here in the UK with national and local lockdowns. Sadly it has been impossible for The Naked Rugby Players team to get clubs together for a 2021 Calendar. However, we felt the need to pull something together so we can continue to support Inclusive Rugby and Balls To Cancer even more so during these difficult times. So, we’ve trawled through the thousands of pictures taken over the past 3 years and from 15 teams and hundreds of players to bring you The Naked Rugby Players 2021 – Unseen Bits!

Just a quick story. We've got so many, but I thought I'd share with you a memory from our first ever shoot.
Back in 2017, we had an idea to create a naked calendar. We wanted something that practised what it preached. A calendar that really celebrated LGBT+ bodies as they are, untouched, unphotoshopped but still beautiful, respectful and, well, sexy, after all everyone wants to feel great in the body they're in, right?!
We reached out to a number of clubs across the UK to see… if they'd be up for the challenge.
One of the first to come on board was The Northampton Outlaws - and they ended up being our first ever photo shoot. While, as a team and individuals we all have experience with photoshoots, a naked one, outside on an especially cold March morning, with a few nosey onlookers wasn't something we were particularly adapted to.
We decided on shooting outside (so sorry guys) and as the creative team had a huddle, Jake (our creative director) asked, "How do we ask them to take their clothes off, without seeming really pervy". We mulled it over for a few moments, and Monty (our photographer) said, "We should just ask them, professionally... like we've done this kind of thing hundreds of times".
We agreed, it seemed like the best way forward. A calm, professional, almost clinical approach would be the tactic to ask these brave souls to disrobe.
We broke from the huddle, looked up and found 5 Outlaws, as naked as the day they were born, running across the pitch, laughing and bantering and throwing the ball to each other.
We looked at each other and laughed. Rugby lads... right!
Since then we've photographed the Outlaws every year and, like all our teams, we truly appreciate their bravery, their willingness to go along with our ideas and well, generally being lovely people.
