Five women, all apparently connected to a beauty parlor, were found brutally murdered in the Mexican beach resort of Acapulco on Saturday morning, state police said. The semi-naked and bound bodies of two women and a 14-year-old girl were discovered in the salon in the early hours of Saturday morning. All three had their throats slashed.
Police later found the corpses of another two women with cut throats dumped in the streets. Mexican media said both victims worked at the beauty parlor. No motive was given for the killings. Acapulco, famed in the 1960s as a glamorous haunt for Hollywood stars, has been convulsed by drug violence in recent months as powerful cartels battle for smuggling routes, prompting the United States to warn tourists against visiting the downtown center of the resort.
Mexican officials have been anxious to downplay the impact of the violence on tourism, one of the country’s main foreign exchange earners, pointing out that the number of visitors arriving in Mexico has continued to rise in recent years. Spreading drug violence that killed more than 15,000 people last year has prompted foreign governments to issue a number of travel warnings for parts of Mexico.

It’s hard to know what’s real and what’s not on the Internet, particularly on Web sites as notoriously murky as 4chan, from whence came the hacked nude celebrity photos a few months ago that created such a stir.
So when gruesome-looking photos of what appeared to be the lifeless body of a nude woman with red marks around her neck appeared on 4chan on Tuesday, nobody was quite sure what to make of them. According to the Los Angeles Times, the photos were accompanied by this cold-blooded statement: “Turns out it’s way harder to strangle someone to death than it looks on the movies. … She fought so Damn hard.”
Was it a hoax? What sort of person would take such pictures and post them? Police in Washington state now think they know the answer.
The pictures were real. The woman was murdered Tuesday. And the man who allegedly posted the photos turned himself in last night.
Authorities told reporters Amber Lynn Coplin of Port Orchard, Wash., was the woman in the photos — and the man who likely took and posted them was her boyfriend, David Michael Kalac, 33, who has been charged with murdering her in the apartment they shared.
Kalac turned himself in to police in Clackamas County, Ore., shortly before 9 p.m. last night, Portland police said.
Kalac is “our primary suspect,” Kitsap County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Wilson said. “It stands to reason that in all likelihood he is the person who posted those photographs.”
Coplin’s 13-year old son found his mother’s body in her apartment Tuesday, Wilson told KOMO News. Her driver’s license was nearby with the word “dead” written on it. The boy told police he had heard Kalac and his mother arguing loudly Monday night. Other witnesses reported hearing thumping and banging noises coming from the apartment, just west of Seattle.
Kalac reportedly texted a friend afterwards saying he would read about him in the news. Police also said Kalac wrote he was hoping to die from “suicide by cop.”
“Check the news for Port Orchard Washington in a few hours,” Kalac allegedly wrote. “Her son will be home from school soon. He’ll find her, then call the cops. I just wanted to share the pics before they find me. I bought a BB gun that looks realistic enough. When they come, I’ll pull it and it will be suicide by cop. I understand the doubts. Just check the f—— news. I have to lose my phone now.”
At some point, he took off in Coplin’s car and police began a manhunt.
As for the photos, Wilson said they were probably posted about half-an-hour before the death was reported Tuesday. According to a court affadavit reported by NBC News , police said the photos matched the woman, her injuries and the crime scene.

Harvey Glatman was an American serial killer . He exhibited his antisocial behavior and sadomasochistic sexual tendencies from an early age. Media quickly nicknamed him "The Lonely Hearts Killer". Glatman started when he moved to Los Angeles, where he posed as a professional photographer to lure girls into his hotel room with the promise of easy money and work. There, he tied them up, photographed them, and eventually killed and dumped their bodies in the desert.

This picture was taken by serial killer Robert Ben Rhoades. 14-year-old Regina Kay Walters was one of the numerous women held in an 18-wheeler equipped with a torture chamber in the back. The photo was taken in an abandoned Illinois barn, where Rhoades killed Walters after cutting off her hair and making her wear a black dress and heels.
Bradford was incarcerated in an maximum security San Quentin State Prison for the 1984 murders of his 15-year-old neighbor Tracey Campbell and barmaid Shari Miller, making them the only official victims. In Bradford’s apartment, authorities found 54 different women in modeling poses. Because he had lured Shari Miller with the promise of a modelling career and took pictures prior murdering her, police have reason to believe Bradford was, in fact, a serial killer and the photos represent the girl’s last moments before their deaths.
Bradford died in 2008, taking the secret with him to his grave.
Robert Andrew "Bob" Berdella was an American serial killer from Kansas City, Missouri. He raped, tortured, and killed at least six men. Berdella was conscious of his homosexuality. In 1984, he started dating Jerry Howell, a good-looking 19-year-old male prostitute. On July 5 th , 1984, Berdella invited Howell to his house, where he drugged him with sedatives for animals and immobilized him by binding him to a bed. In the following hours he repeatedly raped his victim, wrote carefully about the process into his diary, and took several pictures to relive his fantasy later. This was the beginning of his torture and murder spree.
Next year, a friend of Berdella, 18-year-old Robert Sheldon, came to stay with him for a few days and found himself drugged and held captive in the basement just like Howell before him. He was killed after 3 days of torture by suffocation.
21-year-old Todd Stoops was kidnaped because Berdella felt sexually frustrated at him. The torture he endured prior to his death included electric shocks via a spatula placed across the eyelid in an unsuccessful attempt to blind him. Stoops died due to a combination of blood loss and an infection.
In March 1988, 2 years after killing Todd Stoops, Berdella abducted his last victim. A prostitute named Chris Bryson was tortured on the second floor. His narrow escape happened after he got loose from the ties, removed a picture that was covering the window, and climbed out the window. He hung from the gutters on the second floor until they broke and he fell into bob's yard. He ran to a neighbor's house while wearing nothing but a dog collar around his neck.
Berdella made a deal to avoid the death penalty in exchange for a full confession.
The homicide detectives found hundreds of photographs of unidentified women in a storage locker belonging to Rodney Alcala – a convicted rapist and serial killer . The man could be behind as many as 130 murders. Because only a handful of women identified themselves as having posed for the pictures, it's highly likely that some of those photographed were murdered.
Alcala is sometimes labeled The Dating Game Killer , because of his appearance on the television show The Dating Game in the midst of his murder spree. Alcala clinched the dating show by smiling softly into the cameras and saying: "We're going to have a great time together, Shelly." Fortunately, they never went on a date.

Asunta Basterra (the story has been covered by Bizarrepedia before) was a 12-year-old girl adopted from China by a wealthy and well respected Spanish family – lawyer Rosario Porto Ortega and journalist Alfonso Basterra Camporro. Her adoptive parents reported her missing on the evening of September 21, 2013, only ten days short of her 13 th birthday. Asunta was repeatedly poisoned with benzodiazepine-based sedatives and eventually suffocated by her adoptive parents. The motive was greed – Asunta was about to inherit expensive real estate from her grandparents. The photo below is one of the last photos taken by her parents, where she was drugged and wrapped in a blanket.
This is the last photo taken of Madyson Jamison, who disappeared on October 8, 2009 with her whole family. Their remains were found on November 16, 2013. The photo is believed to have been taken by their killer, whose identity remains a mystery.
While there is no proof the picture was taken by a stranger or the killer, the police accepted it as a strong theory. Madyson's aunt claimed she looks to have been in extreme distress and looking towards her parents. There is also a theory the father murdered the family and then himself. Either way, little Madyson has disappeared.
In 1989, a woman pulled off the Route 98 (Florida) into the parking lot of a food store and found what appeared to be a polaroid photo lying face down on the asphalt. When the woman turned the polaroid over, the picture she saw was harrowing.
A young woman and a younger boy lie on their backs on a rumpled pile of mismatched sheets and pillows. Both look directly at the camera with expressions of tense resignation. Their mouths are covered with duct tape, and their postures suggest that their wrists are bound behind them. The space they occupy is cramped and poorly lit.
