And this clip is from The Naked Kiss.
A 1964 film noir directed by Samuel Fuller.
It features one of the most famous and lurid
pre credit sequences in movie history.
Featuring it's main character, Kelly
a prostitute, played by Constance Towers
attacking a drunk John who's holding out on her.
The movie then flashes two years forward,
to her arrival in a small town, Grantville,
where her job as a saleswoman of cheap champagne
with a local police captain named Griff,
she has a sudden change of heart and reforms.
Getting a job as a nurse at a local hospital

she comes in contact with it's benefactor,
and a man of wealth, refinement and culture,
who falls in love with her setting up
pinning him against his friend Griff.
[Richard] Meanwhile, there's a nearby brothel
run by a woman named Candy, who has an in
And tries to lure nurses from the hospital
Your world with Candy would become so warped
staunch in her repentance and fiercely protective
He was a master of cinematic violence
had a cautionary dismay that nonetheless clashed
with the glee of his stylist exuberance.
[Richard] He'd also been a tabloid journalist,
who's knowledge of the gritty underworld
In this film, made on an extremely low budget,
outside the studio system, he was able to give
free reign to his seemly imagination.
But this one raises it to new heights,
or rather, sinks it down to sleazier depths.
In this scene, Kelly pays a surprise visit
not long before their planned wedding.
And what she discovers in his mansion
why I could never marry a normal woman.
