Photographer Liza Van Der Stock’s intimate project about a porn-producing family in Flanders was shortlisted for the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards.
In a Flemish village outside of Turnhout, Belgium, Laura and Maurice live together with their daughter Eva. They have all the trappings of a normal family, but when 9-year-old Eva is at school, Maurice and Laura start their day jobs as porn producers.
I photographed the family for two years for my project called Paradi$e Lu$t. They’ve given me unfettered access to both their personal and professional lives. The duo, more than anything, are small business owners: together they started a production company called “Stout!” around a decade ago. It’s still a modest operation: they produce the movies and both work the camera. And, from time to time, they are the porn stars as well.
Like Maurice and Laura, their other actors are ordinary people. They’re fathers and neighbors. Salesmen and postmen. The sex and the bodies are very real, not fake, not glamorous.
Maurice and Laura used to live above an erotic club they owned and filmed in, but they moved out to the quieter village once Eva got a little older. The most interesting thing about the village life was the process of gaining their new community’s acceptance. When Eva was new in her school there were some children who couldn’t play with her because their parents didn’t allow it. Laura really wanted everybody to accept them, so she threw a very big party for Eva’s birthday. She cleaned the house for two days and made it totally sex-free. She invited everybody from the school, also the parents. People came to realize that they are just normal people and since then she organizes the party each year.

Maurice and Laura are always very honest with Eva. They don’t want to lie to her. But of course they informed her about their job in words she can understand. She knows that they had a bar where naked people came to have a drink and to dance. Eva has a really good relationship with her parents and their job has never been an obstacle. And in my time with them, I saw a warm family with a very normal life that really separated their work life from their personal life. A moment I remember very well was when Eva received her first communion in church. Laura was very involved in the ceremony and afterwards there was a party in their new café. Friends and family came along and it was a very good day. In the porn Laura and Maurice make, actors are captured on tape as they are. My project aims to portray the family with that same humanity.

I want to know if damily nudity is weird. Yesterday i saw my 15 year old beother naked while he was taking a shower. I was going in to the bathroom without knowing he was there. I was chamging from my bikini to a t-shirt and some sweatshorts. So he definetely saw my ti*s and my other stuff. He didn't mind and i didn't mind.

Several other times when i has been taking a shower my mom, dad or my brother eould come in and pee or do whatever they had to do. Is this weird or is it normal in mostly of the families?
In society it's not normal indeed. However that does not really mean if it is always wrong. I personally think it's normal though most people think it's not normal and regarded it taboo.

I always wonder why should we be ashamed of our own bodies. I mean we were born here stark naked too after all and also sometimes I also don't understand why society just think it as wrong things to do.

Personally, I think as long as both sides feel ok and also there is no harm, then why is it wrong?
I assume if most people or society regarded it not normal because they think there's a harm when both men and women naked isn't it? If you and your family does not harm you neither you harm them, so what's wrong?

So, if it makes you uncomfortable for your family members to see you naked, go change in places where you have privacy. and make it known to others that you want your privacy now that you are older.

I am the eldest. i took care of my first brother. i have two brothers. we take turns with my mom and my other family members taking care of my brothers each other, changing their diapers. i wouldn't get excited with such a small thing. I had loved them those moments I see their purity and innocence, would remind me of my younger self. Mostly, it depends on the family. If the rest of the family is perfectly fine with it, no problem, unless you'd rather not do it.
I remember seeing a movie back in the late `70's or early `80's, "Hotel..." something or other. I can't recall the title and only ever saw it that one time. I think it had Jody Foster in it. Her family was VERY open about being naked in the house. They lived in either a mansion or a small, but fancy, hotel. At any time, you could see any one (or more) of the family walking around completely naked. They were all taught that there's nothing wrong with the human body (which there isn't) and therefore, nudity is no big deal (nor SHOULD it be). I don't recall seeing anyone naked more than a couple times, if that.
There was another movie around that time that was similar but, in this one, the father of the family liked walking around the house in a bear costume. So, maybe that's the one with Jody Foster and there was some other girl like her in the first movie.
I have always been comfortable and confident about my body from a very young age. We lived on a lake and I went skinny dipping during the summer as soon as it got dark. I had always walked around naked growing up till I moved out of the house. My dad and step mom made a few comments as I got older mainly if I didn’t have the bottom covered. I seen my dad as well I don’t think it was sexual but the curious mind to see him just happened. Same with my step mom I walked in on her showering wanting to check her out. It wasn’t exactly sexual but I’ve always had this comparison mind with other females. I’ve always been very forward and bluntly step mom respected this and wasn’t offended by it. Nudity in the family circle is normal. When our house had problems with hot water, there was enough water to shower only one family member, I had to go to the shower with my 11-year-old daughter. My beloved daughter insisted that I wash her all over, "like a little one"... I was very afraid to touch her labia, but I need to wash it. She suggested that she and her mother have a special soap for washing "between the legs". In general, everything went without problems. Before that, I washed it at the age of 3, and managed it at the age of 11. After that, the relationship with my daughter became more confidential, she often asked me for advice on how to behave in various life situations. Now she is 21 years old and she will soon make me a grandfather! I'm going to have a granddaughter! I recently told her about my feelings during a shared shower 10 years ago. We talked about it very loudly and laughed.
We all were born naked. It’s very natural but it’s only peoples thoughts that judge that makes something bad in their mind. Children that see their parents naked are more well adjusted later in life. nudity has become more popular during the Covid crisis.
