On the way to Delphi, we visited two wonderful towns — Nafpaktos and Itea. Nafpaktos is located on a high hill, a fortification wall braids the hill like a boa constrictor. Once we were anchored here and saw a city on a hill, and great walls from the sea. In reality, it looks impressive — see photo link — Disgusting night. However, while there were strong waves and we were not able to swim to the town on dinghy. From the sea, it seemed that the old walls are fused with a modern city and they became an integral part of it. Now it turned out that on closer inspection the impression is exactly the same. The old stone walls are attached new houses and the before last century becomes a part of modernity. The city, of course, is touristic, so here are cafes everywhere. The fact that the city is on a hill turns walk into a good athletic training. If you go up and go down the stairs a couple of times, you will have legs hurt. By the way, wind is always blowing in Nafpaktos, so wind-surfing is a popular sport here. But Greeks are interested in not only sport, they are also combating cyber-viruses. Where would I have met native Kaspersky? Oh, and lastly, a couple of nice trees. As a biologist, I could not pass by. Itea — a tiny resort town near and between Delphi and Galaxidi. There is a lovely view at Itea from Galaxidi, because Mount Parnassus is visible it is very close to Delphi. It seems that it is not comfortable to stay in the marina Itea, because we did not see a single boat. There are many hotels in the outskirts, this is modern buildings, the usual boxes, I did not want to take a picture. Below are several photos, we can assume that you have already seen the entire city. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Learn how your comment data is processed. Blog Welcome!
