NYT: Pro-Iranian proxy sleeper cells are plotting attacks on US targets in Europe

"Sleeper cells" of pro-Iranian proxy groups are allegedly plotting attacks on US targets in Europe and the Middle East. Specifically, attacks by supporters of the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah and al-Qaeda (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) on US military bases and diplomatic missions in European countries are not ruled out.

The New York Times makes this prediction in the event of American strikes on Iran, citing intelligence agencies from the US and other Western countries.

They speculate that the sabotage may begin in response to calls from Tehran. Furthermore, NYT journalists predict renewed attacks by Yemeni Houthis on Western vessels in the Red Sea.

Media sources reached these conclusions after monitoring increased electronic activity among members of pro-Iranian groups and those considered to be related. They also believe there are no plots being hatched by Iran against the United States.

Security experts previously reported that they were warning American military and political leaders against attacks on the Islamic Republic. They believe such attacks would be far more difficult to carry out than the recent operation against Venezuela. They believe a US military strike against Iran could escalate into a protracted and bloody armed conflict.

The international community fears that a United States attack on the Islamic Republic will occur in the very near future.
