This was the nation's twenty-first appearance at the Summer Olympics, having missed the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. The Brazilian Olympic Committee (Comitê Olímpico Brasileiro, COB) sent a total of 258 athletes to the Games, 136 men and 122 women, to compete in 24 sports. Brazil left London with a total of 17 Olympic medals (3 gold, 5 silver, and 9 bronze), winning their third largest number of medals at a single games. Brazilian athletes won its first ever medals in two sports: modern pentathlon, with the bronze medal won by Yane Marques in women's event, and in gymnastics, with the gold medal achieved by Arthur Zanetti in men's rings.

Brazil at the 2016 Summer OlympicsBrazil was the host nation of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was the nation's twenty-second appearance at the Summer Olympics, having competed in all editions in the modern era from 1920 onwards, except the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. Setting a milestone in Olympic history, Brazil became the first South American country to host the Summer Olympics, and the second Latin American host following the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico. In this edition, Brazil beat both its previous highest number of gold medals obtained at one Olympics until this games (five gold medals in Athens 2004), and its record of total medals won at a Games (17 medals in Beijing 2008 and London 2012). Brazil won gold for the first time in two sports: boxing (Robson Conceição in men's lightweight) and football (men's team). It was also the first time a Brazilian athlete won three medals at one Games: Isaquias Queiroz in canoeing (two silvers and one bronze). Brazil also won its first ever medals in canoeing sprint, the silver that Queiroz won in C1-1000 m was the first in that sport.

He finished 7th in team eventing in 2016. Meanwhile, his best individual Olympic placement is 25th place from the same Games. Jorge also participated at two Pan American Games (in 2011 and 2015). He won a team silver in 2015 and a team bronze in 2011. And he also participated at two Badminton in 2014 he came 23rd with Josephine MCJ. Badminton in 2017 he came 30th with Lissy Mac Wayer. Jorge participated in two World Games ( in 1998 and 2018 ) 1998 Rome WEG he came 9th with Arabesco. 2018 Tryon USA WEG he came 32nd with Coronel MCJ.
