Basic knowledge of Zbrush, Maya, Substance Painter, Marmoset, and Photoshop is required. No knowledge is needed for Marvelous Designer since the instructor will teach you the basics of this program.

Abraham Leal is the Director and Founder of Critical Hit Studio & Academy. With the studio and academy, he is proud to be able to spread his artistic knowledge to everyone in his hometown and is extremely excited to be working on big entertainment projects in Mexico. What inspired Abraham to be a 3D artist is The Hobbit book and all the lore that surrounds it. Being able to tell stories and share his own voice is what motivates him to create and imagine new and exciting characters. Prior to becoming a 3D artist, he was going to medical school and he decided to do a complete 180 and get into Digital Design and Entertainment Production. When he quit medical school, he couldn’t draw, paint, or sculpt to save his life but he was so convinced of his definite desire and worked hard to turn it into a reality. His advice to artists who want to get into the 3D industry is to practice properly, be patient and stay humble. He believes in always having a goal in mind, and always open to learning and improving.
In this course we will learn everything you need to know in order to create an AAA game ready Character.

We will be working on a female Character throughout the course. Before beginning the course, you should be familiar with Zbrush, Maya, Substance Painter. No prior knowledge is needed for Marvelous Designer because I will go over the basics of this program.
You are free to follow along with the provided base meshes or you can try and do your own character following all the techniques i will be sharing with you.
This will be a very intensive course but i can guarantee you will get very valuable information to get your characters to the next level.

I was absolute beginner in Marvelous Designer, your's explanations were very clear! Thank you. Also body anatomy was not so hard! I made only half, but this course is already in my top 3 on Udemy.
I found this course very informative and well structured. It's a great course for anyone who wants a step by step demonstration of sculpting, manual retopology, and texturing of the character. The course was easy to follow if you have some previous knowledge of ZBrush and Maya. I would highly recommend it!
For beginner step by step to know the pipeline.
As I was looking for a course that showed me how to sculpt and finish a female character, I did not expect too much detail on the anatomy of the female body (I didn't check all the lessons in the package). Boy was I wrong.
The course is well balanced, alternates between theoretical and practical lesson. E.g. start with the anatomy of the torso, and the next lesson you will sculpt the torso. The theory is easy to follow, but still gives you the necessary information. A lot of reference is shown and he draws a lot on the reference to communicate and convey all the necessary information. The practical bits give you a lot of insight in what Abraham is doing as he walks you through it. He again shows the reference and shows how he applies this theory to his model. And even though I have rather limited knowledge in Zbrush I can follow along quite well.
The only remark that I have is that you start with a base mesh, where as it would have been great if the whole model was made from scratch.
This is very bad course. I could give it 3 stars or even 4 for sculpting and texturing parts, but all these editings behind camera are really confusing. Especially in the end when author said that he asked somebody to pose his character. It's very bad in my opinion. I posed my character eventually but not even close to course's posing.
Also I'd like to say about parts where instructor don't know what's happening and try to find answers or parts where he change his mind about something and we need to redo everything.
So thanks for course anyway, but I can't recommend it..
Course is amazing until you hit the hair.
I do not recommend such a course to anyone, not only did the teacher allow a 6-pointed star on the face during retopology, which in turn breaks any animation, so even on the chapter with hair everything is very accelerated and not described in detail. As a person who has never done hair, I have never been able to repeat the result, although I resammed everything carefully. Please pass by
he just does what he has to do, he doesn't explain anything, he doesn't teach anything, I have to break my head to understand many things he does, because he just does it, and does it quickly

I think it's in one of the best courses for people who are looking for basic knowledge of anatomy and the human body in general. I already got a lot of useful information. Very glad to find this course and it worth his money for sure!
This took about 4 months of my spare time to legitimately follow along and complete. It was a labor intensive experience but so completely worth it. There's a lot of stuff here that I haven't found elsewhere, for example making high quality real-time hair (loved the part about creating braids), retopology tips for specific parts of anatomy, easy humanoid UV layout, realistic clothing modeling, and of course the texturing process. Of the software covered here, I was new to Substance Painter and my mind was totally blown by the quality of the results. Previously, I had been almost entirely hand-painting color maps but using all of the procedural magic of Substance was very eye-opening. Fantastic course and likable, highly knowledgeable instructor.
Perfect match. I have over 25 years of experience in VFX, but mostly on the lookdev/lighting side, and want to expand into modeling characters. Learning so much, I can only recommend this class.
