What the title says. Basically, this scale is how I typically go about rating movies. However, this is, at most, a list of very rough guidelines that I use to help me along. They aren't that important to me at all, thus, it would be wise for you to not take them personally.

Notes:

  • My rating scale is not linear (if it wasn't already clear).
  • I rate based on personal enjoyment.
  • Ratings may or may not be affected by bias.
  • 3 stars is a positive score.
  • A 1-star stops just short from being a 0.5 stars, whereas the gap between a 4-star and a 4.5-star is massive.
  • 4.5-star and 5-star ratings are both where my all-time favorites lie; the only difference is that a 10 is just a little bit more significant to me. Don't expect me to point out exactly what is missing from a 9 that would otherwise be a 10, though. I don't know.
  • 1 star is the lowest I'll rate a piece of media that is enjoyable in any way whatsoever.
