Mi-yeon, who was adopted into her family when she was little, is living with her older sister, Si-yeon and Si-yeon’s husband. Mi-yeon’s desire towards her brother-in-law grows more and more every night when she gets to watch the affectionate interaction between her older sister and the brother-in-law. I often hear people talk about books that have a lot of twists and turns, but this book takes it even farther than I have ever seen before. Nicola Marsh masterfully weaves together 2 timelines and several complicated relationships into one amazing page turner of a story.
I really enjoyed this book even though some of the characters were despicable. I thought it was a bit far fetched but you never know. Family can be really messed up sometimes. You can't control the family you were born into, but you can always control who you make your family. This was a fast read for me because I had trouble putting the book down. It was exciting enough to keep me turning pages. I will definitely read this author again.
WOW what a story, sisters, secrets, lies and suspense, this one had me turning the pages and even when I had to put it down it wouldn’t go away my thoughts were still with the characters in this story, getting to know Alice, Diana, Brooke and Freya was a compelling journey. Brooke and Freya have been bought up by their Aunt Alice along with their cousin Lizzie since they were very young since their parents Diana and Cam are killed in a car accident. Alice is always there for them all equally and she shows lots of love, but it has not always easy for Alice she has become a mum to three children under three years old at twenty three but she does the best she can with the secrets she keeps. In their teenage years tragedy strikes and Brooke leaves their home town determined to never return, she moves a lot but always feels lost somehow, but when she gets an invitation to her sister’s wedding and an email from her cousin to say that her aunt is not well Brooke decides it is time to return. What she returns to will have her thinking hard and doing her best to open up secrets from the past. This is a page turner, one that was hard to put down, one that I would highly recommend, I don’t want to say too much more just that there are lots of twists and turns in this psychological thriller about families sisters more so, a must read I do enjoy Nicola Marsh’s stories and this one is fabulous I loved it.
This book is set in coastal California and follows the twisted secrets of a family. I found the storyline absurd and utterly ridiculous. For a story about an American family, the language and syntax were seriously inauthentic. The author's Australian origins were evident with phrases like "fell pregnant", " wonky wardrobe door", "dressing gown", " lounge room" "gap year", using the word " bloody," as in " I don't bloody believe it "......no American speaks this way. Unrealistic at every level.
Brooke , Freya ,and Lizzie stories and events that changes everyone lives forever . How many secrets families has?😥 no body knows , intriguing, conspiracies and brilliant executed. Recommended
This was my second book by this author, and I loved it! Just when I thought I had it figured out I was shocked again. The end was very surprising as was the revelations from the characters.... “oh what a tangled web we weave” has never been so accurate. I highly recommend this book, block out some time, because you will not want to put it down. Nicola Marsh is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.
What a great book I could not wait to get home every night so I could read about the sisters. This book had my mind all over the place. I absolutely loved the ending. I give it a 10.
Every now and then you find a real gem. That’s what this book was for me. I love it when I can’t put a book down because I need to keep reading to see what happens. You might not want to start this unless you have some time on your hands because you won’t want to stop reading once you start. This book is full of secrets, lies, and twists. It is a real page turner from beginning to end. I am looking forward to reading more from this incredible author.

Melodramatic.
I almost gave up on this a few times. I found it annoyingly repetitious in the way the characters drip-fed the same back story over and over again. One contention for me and what I thought it was a bit silly and unbelievable was when Freya breaks the glass of the framed photo, and the frame gets twisted out of shape just by her holding it to her chest. Another contrived scenerio was the way the characters gravitated to the dangerous cliff edge whenever there was some drama or other going on and apart from it making a melodramatic and farcical setting, I couldn't see the sense in why they would do that. I thought the title a little mis-leading as well. There is no husband, as none of the women are married, unless you count Cam, who is only a minor character, and does not appear in the main present day story.
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading. .

Had me intrigued
I really enjoyed the way this book was written. I had empathy with the characters although I am not sure I had a favourite person. Every character seemed to have things to hide. Not sure I expected the ending as it was. I got really engrossed with this story. Would highly recommend.
The depths of jealousy. I found the start of the book difficult to follow as there so many characters but I'm glad I stuck with it. It has lots of twists and the ending ties everything up in a way that doesn't disappoint.

Interesting story
I've removed 1 star because although this was an intersting story, it was getting repetitive as the book went on. I actually skipped a few chapters and read the last few, I didn't miss anything and one of my guesses was right. However the conclusion was certainly not what I expected.
