I have no qualms walking around being naked around my kids.
We even take showers together if we're pressed for time.
My girls are now 14 and 11, but we've taken baths together since they were born. 
I was raised in Spain, a country where nudity in beaches and pools is normal.
But this doesn't mean we'd do it just anywhere.
Now that we're a blended family and because we live in the U.S., I tell my girls to cover up when walking around the house and, of course, I do the same.
(There is such a thing as common sense.)
If I were with my father-in-law or with my husband's employer, of course I'd wear a top.
Otherwise, I'm happy to report my girls and I are comfortable enough with our bodies that, given the chance, we'll quickly undress and enjoy a wonderful sense of freedom.
If we had the chance to lounge around in a beach in Europe, we'd be quite comfortable going topless.
In Spain you can see toddlers running around the beach naked and nobody bats an eye.
Girls don't wear bikini tops until they really need to for support, and maybe not even then. 
Are there oglers and rapists behind a bush ready to pounce?
Well no, not really. I'm sure men look but when there are so many breasts to gaze at, it's just not that big of a deal.
The human body is a beautiful thing, and yes, there's a time and place for everything.
But breastfeeding in public or baring your breasts at the beach doesn't need to be sexualized.
In Scandinavia, families hang out together naked in the sauna or the jacuzzi.

My eldest was very aware of this difference between Spain and the United States even as a little girl.
So up until she started puberty, she wore her hair in a bob and went to the beach or the pool wearing boy's swimming trunks.
Most of the time she'd be mistaken for a boy, but sometimes people asked. I would say, "Yeah, she's a girl." 
She was, of course, as flat-chested as a boy.
This whole deal of wearing swimming trunks came about after she was told at 4 years old to wear a top at a public pool — at four years old! 
I remember asking the pool manager why my daughter had to cover up because she didn't even have breasts. He said it was a rule.
Well, unless you find a way around it, when in Rome ...
I'm glad my daughter did find a way around it: boy's swimming trunks. And for that, I'm proud of her.

I broke my leg and arm and have a cast that goes to mid-thigh. While taking a shower I fell hard and when my mom asked if I wanted her to come in I said “no, but I need help.” Next thing I know, my female cousin and step-sister were in the bathroom (my mom sent them) and could see “everything.” They are both freshman in college (5 years younger than me) and we’re giggling the whole time. Now I feel self-conscious in front of them.

What was my mom thinking sending them in? We’re they laughing at me cause they could see “it?” Were they even a little uncomfortable or are girls just totally different about nudity and they didn’t even notice/ look down there? My cousin told my step-sister to handle drying me off cause it would be too weird for her. Even though she had a towel in her hand, she didn’t hesitate when it came to touching things ‘down there’ ... I’m sure she could feel “it” through the towel, right? Should I feel as super embarrassed as I do?
I would have helped too, it’s not awkward

It wouldn't have bothered me or been a big deal to me. It's just the male anatomy. People's outlook on the situation would depend on their views of nudity and how comfortable they are with naked bodies.
I’m not sure exactly what their general philosophy is on asexual male nudity in like a medical detachment kind of way but, not knowing you at all, I already know for certain you are more mature than they are. I would say it seemed much more like they were trying very hard (well, kind of) to make it seem like it was no big deal... which, if true, I’m grateful for the decorum they were able to muster... but then what emotion were they hiding? Was it fear or amusement or disgust or... I had no part in encouraging it but should I have told them to leave to rescue THEM from the situation?
Uhh... why did she have to help you dry yourself? That's a little excessive, no? Do you need help every time you shower? Im confused by that part. Seems like a breach in boundaries.
I haven’t been needing help since I got the casts put on. It’s hard to negotiate but I’ve been handling it. But when I fell, I couldn’t get back up and had to use my good arm to hold myself up once they helped me onto my feet. She didn’t like longer or anything weird, she was quick about it. It just seemed like it was no big thing to her and that’s what I’m asking about cause I would think it would be awkward at the very least for most girls

Yea, there’s definitely ZERO sexual attraction or tension or anything between any of us!! One is blood and the other is a sister by marriage that i live with... so definitely no on that front.
But just because there’s nothing sexual does that mean it wasn’t weird for her at all? That just seems crazy to me that she could not be thinking/feeling anything throughout the whole process. That’s wild to me

no, it would not be a big deal to me. i would not be feeling/thinking of anything except completing the task at hand. only reason i would feel awkward or embarrased is if i really liked the guy sexually or even just emotionally but those two kinda correlate so yeah. also, if he were a stranger i'd be a bit flustered but you two are family so i don't see the problem there 🤨
Oh that’s really interesting!! I’m the complete opposite: if it is someone I have a crush on or am really emotionally close to it would be far less embarrassing than to be seen totally exposed by girls with whom there is zero sexual context.
Am many thousands of times more embarrassed to have been seen and (briefly) been touched down there by girls who are sorta family but not like a real brother or sister. My step-sister and I met a little less than 2 years ago when her mom married my dad. My cousin I only just met. Our two sides of the family hadn’t talked in over 20 years so she and I never knew each other growing up. She moved out to Los Angeles from Philly when she got into college last fall. She’s 18 or 19 and my step-sister turned 19 a couple months ago.
So we are really more like casual acquaintances verging on friends. Not like brothers and sisters, where you just feel kind of more comfortable with them than with most anyone else... we are all three far closer to being strangers than we are to having a family type bond. Though I guess we trust each other to some degree because we ARE actually family, we haven’t really hung out much (me and my step-sister) until my cousin started living with us to save on rent about 3 weeks ago
