Fox411: Suzanne Somers discusses her career after being fired from 'Three's Company,' her last conversation with John Ritter and the secret behind her lasting marriage.
Suzanne Somers isn’t feeling the heat after some social media users expressed strong opinions about her recent Instagram snap celebrating her 73rd birthday in nothing but her “birthday suit.”
“I’m 73, I love the way I feel,” Somers told Fox News exclusively. “I love my great health, I adore my husband and family and it was very hot that day! Haha.”
Somers’ husband of 42 years, Alan Hamel , who also serves as her manager, isn’t worried about “these few haters.” The couple tied the knot in 1977 and have been happily married since.
“I am uncertain whether Suzanne has a comment about these few haters who routinely turn up on her digital platforms,” Hamel told Fox News. “It’s usually the same group and we ignore them and not provide them any oxygen. If Suzanne announced she had found a cure for cancer, they would still be there doing their hate thing.”
“I believe these are people who are desperately unhappy with who they are personally and get off anonymously saying negative things about people they do not know,” he continued. “It would be easy to block these folks, but we believe in the First Amendment big time.”
The actress took to Instagram and Facebook on Wednesday to share a photo of herself in Palm Springs, Calif. In the picture, the “Three’s Company” actress ditched the clothes and crouched down in some tall grass while covering her breasts.
“Here I am at 73 in my Birthday Suit!!!” she captions the snap.
The post immediately caught fire amongst her 102K followers on Instagram alone. Most wished the star a happy birthday and some praised her for baring it all.
“You go girl! Way to rock your 70’s. So inspirational!!” one user wrote on Instagram.
“Love this!!! Appreciate you being an example of the importance of loving our bodies and still feeling sexy at any age!” another user said.
“You look amazing! Happy birthday and I hope you do this every year at any age as I know you’ll always be beautiful and most women don’t have the guts!” a Facebook user shared.
“Bravo. And to those who criticize, her pose is no different than being in a bikini. We should all hope to look this great & be this healthy at the same age .. Suzanne is an inspiration!” someone else shared.

Others, meanwhile, chastised her for the photo. Those who were upset by the nude picture were quick to note her age as a factor.
“Why...you are too old to be acting like this,” someone wrote in part on Instagram.
“Too old to be modeling in your birthday suit. If I was to do that I would get the same remarks,” someone else shared.
“Why would she do that? Not a pretty sight,” someone wrote on Facebook. “She was so beautiful. Shots and surgeries change their faces too much. Surprised she didn’t get a boob lift also. Oh, well, to each his own.”
“Wow I don’t want to see that put some clothes on Susie,” a more blunt user noted.

Somers, however, seemed undeterred by the online hate. Instead, she's keeping busy these days.
Twenty years since she fought breast cancer, Somers launched a beauty line titled Suzanne Organics for those seeking a different approach to skincare. In 2017, the best-selling author added a new book to her collection titled “Two’s Company,” where she reflected on the many lessons she’s learned in Hollywood over the years alongside her husband.
At the time, Somers told Fox News her business/romance collaboration with Hamel continues to thrive.
“I am madly in love,” she declared. “I still am. It’s bizarre to me that after 40 years of marriage and 50 years together that I still feel that way. But he turns me on, and I think I turn him on, and it’s always been like that. You know the way it is when you first start dating someone and this might be the one? That feeling has never gone away.

"So is this luck? I don’t know. A good relationship is not about luck. It’s about really putting in the effort to make sure that you give each other a lot of attention and respect… But if you throw in the other component of you turn one another on, that kind of makes it really great.”
And while Somers has gone on to pursue other TV projects, as well as launch the ThighMaster, of which she’s sold over 10 million, she’s never forgotten about her most famous role — that of Chrissy Snow.
“It was one of those magic, once-in-a-while kind of things that happened, and I felt it when I was her,” said Somers on becoming Snow. “I made her a woman child. She had a moral code of what she wouldn’t do. She would never tell a lie. She would never take anybody’s husband or boyfriend and she had the qualities that made people feel safe. And she was unaware of what she looked like.

"It was a fun character to play. They were stupid to fire me. But, whatever. It worked out for me and I’m the only one still working from the series, with no signs of stopping, so how great."

Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton is in the middle of his own scandal.
Hilton posted a photo of Miley Cyrus on his Twitter page that appeared to show the 17 year old stepping out of a car without underwear - though, it turns out, she may have had underwear on, after all.
Some say the posting could be child pornography.
He removed the controversial photo from his Twitter page after a national outcry.
And he insists the tweet was meant to teach Cyrus a lesson. "The reason I linked to that photo is 'cause I think she was exiting this car is a very un-ladylike fashion. And you know, I like to encourage Miley to be ladylike."
Hilton, who calls himself "The Queen of Mean," has a well-known history of pushing boundaries.
Last September, he posted a photo of Demi Moore's daughter, Tallulah Willis, saying the 15 year old was "dressing like a slut!"
But, says CBS News Correspondent Bill Whitaker , he may have crossed a legal line with his Cyrus posting.
"There are laws against putting that kind of stuff on the Internet, and he could be prosecuted," observes defense attorney Steve Cron.
Psychologist David Swanson calls the post "deeply disturbing. … It's child pornography, and it's normalizing the idea of sexualizing young adolescent girls."
Hilton's response to his critics? "Sure, I like to be controversial, but I don't want to go to jail. People -- snap out of it!"
In recent months, the underage pop star has been projecting a more adult image, promoting her new album, "Can't Be Tamed."
In an interview with radio host Ryan Seacrest , Cyrus dismissed Hilton's actions, saying, "That's like some idiot being an idiot. That's not me."
Hilton posted the Cyrus picture with the caption, "If you're easily offended, do not click here."
One fellow blogger says that's not a warning -- it's an invitation. "Of course," says Sharon Waxman of TheWrap.com, "when you put out a tweet that says, 'Don't look at this if you're sensitive at all,' that's pretty much an invitation for everybody to click."
Authorities haven't commented on whether Hilton will be charged with a crime.

Britney Spears posted a full-frontal naked selfie to her Instagram, declaring in the caption: 'Free woman energy has never felt better.'
The 40-year-old pop star shared the image - that showed her taking a photo while posing in the mirror of her glamorous walk-in closet - to her more than 38 million Instagram followers on Thursday.
In the snap, the singer wore just a white lace choker around her neck, and matching thigh-high stockings without anything else on.
Nude awakening: Britney Spears post FULL FRONTAL naked snap to her Instagram as she tells fans: 'Free woman energy has never felt better'
To cover her modesty and abide by Instagram's community guidelines, Britney used a pink flower and pink heart emoji to obscure parts of her completely nude body.
Currently, Instagram does not allow nudity on its side with a few exceptions - including photos of post-mastectomy scarring and women actively breastfeeding.
It's not the first time that Britney has shown semi-naked portraits of herself, having previously gone topless on a number of other occasions over the last few months.
But while fans had previously expressed their concern on past images, Britney has now begun to disable the comments on her Instagram posts, meaning users are unable to share their thoughts underneath the uploads.
Racy snap: To cover her modesty and abide by Instagram's community guidelines, Britney used a pink flower and pink heart emoji to obscure parts of her naked body
However, the post certainly caused a stir and was immediately shared by rapper The Game - real name Jayceon Terrell Taylor.
Jayceon, 42, posted the same image to his 12.1 million followers with the caption: 'Free da gang.'
Not concerned by the drama, Britney later declared that she was the proud owner of her 'first high waisted bathing suit' and took to Instagram to model her sexy new bikini.
Wow: Not concerned by the drama, Britney later declared that she was the proud owner of her 'first high waisted bathing suit' and took to Instagram to model her sexy new bikini
While working her angles in the very feminine two piece and a set of heels, she also seductively guzzled water.
'This is my first high waisted bathing suit ever …my fiancé likes it but I'm not sure .... It's crazy cool cause you can adjust it high or low,' Spears wrote in her caption.
The pink two piece featured white trimming and button detailing and she paired the pool ready look with a pair of brown heels.

The Toxic singer's social media content has become increasingly more daring since a judge terminated her 13-year-long conservatorship last year, that had seen her life be micro-managed by father Jamie Spears.
In August last year, Britney sparked concern as she posted a topless shot the same week she was accused of striking her housekeeper (an accusation that was denied and the charge later dismissed.)
Britney has been exercising her freedom in public life and on social media ever since her well-documented conservatorship came to an end, allowing her to live more freely.
First time for everything! 'This is my first high waisted bathing suit ever …my fiancé likes it but I'm not sure .... It's crazy cool cause you can adjust it high or low,' Spears wrote in her caption
Open wide! Turning up the heat even more, Britney held a water bottle up to her open mouth as she tried to lap up a bit of water while letting it drizzle down her physique
Just last month, the singer won control over her own legal affairs, as she was given the power to execute legal documents.
Her attorney Mathew Rosengart said at the time that 'Ms Spears, as an independent woman, not under conservatorship,' should be able to execute documents herself.
He hailed the ruling outside court afterwards, saying: 'As of November 12, 2021 for the first time in 13 plus years Britney Spears is a free independent women and Judge Penny once again today acknowledged that by indicating she has the capacity to do whatever she wants.'
Although the conservatorship was fully terminated, accountant John Zabel had been given power of execution of Britney's estate trust and power to transfer assets into the trust until the next hearing on January 19.
Another one: In August last year, Britney sparked concern as she posted a topless shot the same week she was accused of striking her housekeeper, an accusation that was denied
Late last month, she hit out against her family and teased new music in a video posted over a month after the termination of her conservatorship.
The mom-of-two, who has not released an album since 2016, talked about why she became her 'own cheerleader' after losing control of her life.
After battling feeling torn down and restricted by loved ones, she 'read up on' herself and accomplishments online.
Daring: The Toxic singer's social media content has become increasingly more daring since a judge terminated her 13-year-long conservatorship last year, that had seen her life be micro-managed by father Jamie Spears
'This is what I found:⁣ ⁣Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning pop icon Britney Spears is one of the most successful and celebrated entertainers in pop history with nearly 100 million records sold worldwide,' she wrote on Instagram.
The talented performer cited Nielsen Music for reporting that she 'sold more than 70 million albums, singles and songs.'
Additionally, Spears went on to remind her followers that she has '33.6 million albums in the U.S. and ranks as the 18th-best selling album artist in the Nielsen era.'
Ongoing: According to Variety last month , Jamie, 69, (pictured left) has petitioned to seek the court's approval for his daughter to pay his lawyers who are 'participating in winding up' the conservatorship
While she joked she wasn't 'auditioning for anything,' she was sharing the information to refresh her memory and the world's of who she is.
'Yes… I will be my own cheerleader… why ???? I’m here to remind my white “classy” family that I haven’t forgotten what they did to me nor will I ever forget!!!!⁣' the Toxic singer added.
As for her personal life, she is currently engaged to actor Sam Asghari.
Starting a new life: Meanwhile, Britney, who recently became engaged to her long-time boyfriend Sam Asghari, reportedly has no plans of inviting any of her family to her wedding
