I thoroughly LOVE this series! I've only just recently discovered it, as I don't have cable (and so don't get Nickelodeon.) But now, having "discovered" it on the 'net & now am able to enjoy it on DVD, I am thoroughly HOOKED on the show (and the title character herself! Move over, Sheldon...) It is a really wonderful show, with likable, appealing characters (even the villains are wonderful, particularly the villainess Vexus--voiced by the late Eartha Kitt--easily the coolest villain on the series!) It's got clever writing, with lots of in-joke/references to everything from science-fiction, old classic cartoons, classic movies, pulpy SF magazines from the 30s & all kinds of other lovably "geeky" references that add to the overall appeal & tenor of the show. One of the most striking elements of the show are the bold, highly-stylized graphics, done in a kind of "retro" quasi-Art Deco fashion, recalling some of the feel of old classic cartoons from the 30s (to which there are numerous references peppered throughout the series, mixed in with more contemporary & futuristic/SF elements as well, in a unique, startlingly original blend.) And one of the most enjoyable treats for any animation buff is the use of expressionistic color-styling during the action sequences. (First time I noticed that, I thought, "Oooo! That's an interesting idea!") In short, it's a plain fun feel-good, enormously entertaining show, which I highly recommend, the first season being (in my never-to-be-humble opinion) the best. Seasons 2 & 3 are also available on DVD & recommended, so one can own the complete series (including the 48-minute special episode, "Escape from Cluster Prime," originally intended as the series finale and included in the Season 3 package) and see how the characters & their relationships with each other gradually evolved over time. (Especially "Jenny" herself--she's much more self-confident & assertive in Seasons 2 & 3, though she occasionally goes a bit too far & even occasionally shows a bit of a 'dark' side that is a bit...disturbing, in my opinion...) For long-time dyed-in-the-wool fans of the show, as well as the relative newcomers to the series such as myself, these DVDs are well worth the very low price. The only possible quibble I might have (and it's arguably one of the trade-offs of the low price) is, I REALLY REALLY WISH they could've included some Special Features on the discs; maybe interviews with the show's creators, writers, artists & voice-cast or details on the show's production, how they came up with such a wonderful, charming & original premise. Those would've been great to include. (Also, there is no track for closed-captioning however, so those who require this feature are, alas, out of luck.) Still, all in all, the availability of the complete series of such a wonderful show for such a low price is a definite bargain which I would highly recommend. The quality of the DVDs are very good too; believe me, I've bought low-price DVDs in the past that were of very poor quality, with washed-out colours, from poor-quality, scratched, underexposed/underprocessed prints, etc. This is not the case here. The images are bright, crystal-clear, colourful, the soundtrack crisp & clear, the volume consistent throughout as well. So if you're a big MLAATR fan, you gotta buy these DVDs! You'll be glad you did!

I'm going to submit this as a review for all three DVDs, as I purchased all of them at the same time. I really like the fact that Nickelodeon is sporadically releasing all of its Nicktoons in these formats, and this show, with its charming animation style and cute cast of characters, is no exception. My Life as a Teenage Robot is a show that can clearly be seen as one of Nickelodeon's classics, and hey, the guy in charge of it, Rob Renzetti, went on to write for MLP: Friendship is Magic, so that should give you an idea of what you're in for - a strong yet endearing female protagonist robot fighting to save the world! (Seriously, the parallel this shares with Mega Man is staggering, not that it's a bad thing, mind you.) My only complaint is that this BEGS to be sold as a complete collection set. I really like the cases, they have a touch of elegance that makes it look great in my DVD shelf, but still. I would have appreciated all three seasons combined into one case, like how Shout Factory did for Rocko's Modern Life. Australia got a complete DVD set, why not America? I highly recommend this series to any Nicktoon collector. If your kid's sitting there, disillusioned by the idiocy he's seen from shows like Fanboy and Chum Chum and Sanjay and Craig, you can go: "Hey...want to watch a Nicktoon from when Nickelodeon was awesome?" Bam. There you go.

So I was a huge fan of this show since it first premiered--I was about 8 at the time, and it was, like, my entire world (growing up I was hugely into Action Girl and Magical Girl-type shows, so this one was right up my alley). At 25 I decided to get back into the show, and I half-expected to come out of it thinking "heh, well that wasn't nearly as good of a show as I remembered." But honestly? Even in 2020, this show holds up splendidly, and continues to be one of my favorite cartoons! The art style and general design choices used for each episode are very eye-catching and unique, the characters are charming, most of the humor aged surprisingly well, the action is engaging... You can tell a lot of effort and care went into each episode. I'd say if you're a fan of shows like Steven Universe or Star vs. The Forces of Evil, and have thought of giving this show a try, please do! And if you're an old fan thinking of returning to it, like I did, get ready for a full rush of nostalgic bliss. I promise it's just as good now as it was back then.

Look, I really like this kind of character design and animation. The voice acting and energy is great throughout the series. I prefer a main character that is pleasing to look at and just all around fun and just down right cute. "Jenny" fits the bill for this. I'm a fan of anime and prefer strong, cute female lead characters. Much more fun for me to watch. "My life as a teenage robot" fits the bill quite nicely. Just wish the series ran on beyond more than three seasons.

FINALLY have the entire series of My Life As A Teenage Robot on DVD. This first season set has all 13 (26 separate) episodes! There are no special features, just the episodes. I love having this set in my collection! Get to rewatch all my favorite episodes of the show, while also getting to sit through episodes I might have missed when they first aired, which is even more amazing! This set is also much more reasonably priced, unlike a lot of Amazon's "manufactured on demand" DVDs! The only thing that I wasn't too happy with, was that the opening theme song only plays on the very first episode of each disc, rather than at the start of every episode like it was when it originally aired. But I guess that's more acceptable than missing an entire episode! BUY THIS! You won't be regret the purchase one bit! =)

I love this series and I'd recommend it to anyone. The DVDs arrived in great condition and the quality is what I expected. The show is just as good as I remember. I seriously recommend getting all three seasons at once. I was going to give this four stars due to the package being late, however it would not be fair to penalize this wonderful and quirky series because the shipping company misplaced it. Amazon was great about getting on them about it without me having to get involved.

Like everyone knows, who considers to buy this DVD, the content is super fantastic. So I'll focus on the quality. The DVD's cover and the back of the DVDs itself make a very expensive impression. Each season includes 3 DVDs. I bought all seasons and the first two DVDs of each season had scratches. These hasn't been a problem up to now, but I think for 20 USD scratches should be excluded..... The quality of the episodes itself is good. The DVD menu consists out of and or something like that. So it isn't very easy to find out which are episodes and which are EXTRAS, but I think this isn't really a problem. All in all I think it's completly worthy to buy these DVDs because these are only minor problems and the content itself is too good to miss it. I hope that they will make a fourth season of this amazing cartoon.

A good dvd release. This is one of the better classic nicktoons. It has a pretty unique premise.
