My Hero Academia will return this October, telling the tale of the War Arc within the anime adaptation. With Deku and his fellow classmates at UA Academy once again preparing for battle as Shigaraki and his Paranormal Liberation Front aim to eradicate Hero Society, the first synopsis for season six has landed to give anime fans a better idea of what the War Arc will entail. As the manga races toward its grand finale, expect some major moments to arrive in the upcoming season.
While the War Arc will arrive on the small screen this fall, the Final Arc of the series from Kohei Horikoshi is currently underway in the pages of the manga. While the mangaka responsible for the series has been tight-lipped when it comes to how many more chapters the Shonen manga has left, some of the biggest battles of the series have taken place in the latest installments.
If you didn't get the opportunity to watch the newest trailer for the War Arc released at this year's Crunchyroll, you can check out the new My Hero Academia promo below:
The official description for the sixth season of My Hero Academia reads as such:
"With Bakugo and Todoroki, Deku is doing his work-study at the office of the number one hero, Endeavor. Working hard in the best possible environment, he is growing as a hero and using Blackwhip, a new Quirk that was hiding in One For All. Meanwhile, Tomura Shigaraki from the League of Villains clashes against the Metahuman Liberation Army led by Re-Destro. While he's being driven into a corner fighting Re-Destro, he recovers forgotten memories of his terrible childhood and is awakened. He seizes the Metahuman Liberation Army, expands its influence, and now desires a new power for himself to destroy everything."
Horikoshi hasn't been hinting at a possible sequel for My Hero Academia , though he had in the past noted that were he to jump into a new manga, it might just be horror related.
What are you most excited to see in the sixth season of My Hero Academia? Which heroes and villains do you think will die during the Final Arc of the manga? Some of My Hero Academia's quirks are ideal for dominance on the battlefield, but others can make everyday life easier.
Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia is one of the biggest shonen series of the decade. The anime has produced more than 100 episodes, but in some ways, it feels like the series is just getting started when it comes to its superpowered theatrics. My Hero Academia beautifully combines superhero tropes with shonen genre stereotypes to create a chaotic and creative spin on pop culture's omnipresent obsession with comic books.
It takes more than a powerful quirk to be a successful hero or villain in My Hero Academia , but there are hundreds of unique superpowers on display in the series. Some of these quirks are ideal for dominance on the battlefield, but others can make everyday life easier.
Hiroshi Shinso is a powerful outlier from U.A. High's Class 1-C who first gained acclaim during the Sports Festival. The Joint Training Arc in My Hero Academia's fifth season becomes a great chance for Shinso to demonstrate how much he's improved. Shinso becomes one of the greatest challenges for Deku because of his overpowered Brainwashing Quirk.
Brainwashing is a Quirk that would be dangerously helpful in everyday life since it can make society follow the user's every whim. The only catch with Brainwashing is that it requires the target to verbally respond to the user's request in order for the command to work.
My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is the second feature film in the series and it involves a nefarious villain known as Nine who can steal and store quirks . One of the quirks that Nine adds to his arsenal is Cell Activation, a fancy means of healing and regeneration that can quickly restore individuals to peak condition.
Cell Activation does drain the user's own health, but it's still a great quirk to have in the real world. Alternatively, there are other restorative quirks, like Recovery Girl's Healing kiss, that fulfill a similar purpose.
Knowledge is power, which means that the IQ Quirk has the potential to be one of the most dangerous powers in My Hero Academia . The IQ Quirk multiplies the user's intelligence to temporarily turn them into a genius.
In My Hero Academia , Saiko Intelli uses this quirk to develop brilliant strategies and guarantee that she's always ahead of the competition, but it just as easily can be used for benign everyday tasks like finding the best route to work. This quirk is also triggered by the consumption of tea, which is easily one of the more peaceful activators in My Hero Academia .
Certain quirks in My Hero Academia have flashy triggers and obvious tells, while other dangerous abilities are activated simply by someone asking a question. Confession is a quirk that's initially used by the cryptic villain Shin Nemoto before he and it are co-opted by Overhaul.
Confession is quite direct and it's a quirk that forces its target to truthfully answer whatever they're asked. A villain can effectively use this to ruin their enemy's plan, but in real life, it's the easiest way to make sure that someone is telling the truth.
Izuku Midoriya experiences a rude awakening after he spends a lot of time with Mirio "Lemillion" Togata of U.A. High's Big Three . Midoriya learns that Togata nearly inherited One For All from All Might over himself, but his standard Permeation Quirk hardly feels like a consolation prize.
Permeation allows the quirk's user to phase through physical matter. This is crucial in combat because the quirk user can phase out of harm's way. However, this power can also be used as an efficient means of transportation by propelling the user through the air. Permeation has many perks of invisibility, but without the same cumbersome setbacks.
Momo Yaoyorozu is one of the smartest and most capable students to come out of U.A. High's Class 1-A. Yaoyorozu proves herself to be a natural leader several times over and much of her success has to do with how she properly handles her complex Creation Quirk.
Creation is a quirk that allows the user to create any non-living object imaginable out of their own exposed skin. The lack of restrictions on this quirk means that Creation can solve almost any problem at hand due to its inherent versatility. It's like having a personal instantaneous delivery service.
Kyudai Garaki is My Hero Academia's resident unscrupulous scientist who applies his brilliant mind to aid the League of Villains. Garaki's morbid experiments are essential in the mass production of the Nomu, but Garaki also possesses a special quirk that All For One is later able to benefit from.
Life Force doubles the user's life span and makes them look a fraction of their age. This is perfect for anyone who's particularly vain or wants to look as young as they feel at heart. The only caveat is that the user's true age will physically return if the effects of the Life Force Quirk are ever canceled.
Camie Utsushimi is a second-year student from U.A. High's sister school, Shiketsu High, who doesn't always get her due despite the enviable quirk that she commands. Utsushimi's Glamour Quirk functions as a masterful means of deception that creates visual and auditory hallucinations.
Glamour can be used as the perfect means to distract others with whatever they desire. However, the fact that the Glamour Quirk can form illusions that can fill an entire room means that this quirk can also work as a modest form of entertainment.
Some of the most disturbing material in My Hero Academia involves Kai Chisaki's abusive guardian role over Eri, a confused child who he holds captive because of her phenomenal quirk. Eri's Rewind Quirk can reverse someone's existence back to an earlier state.
The intricacies of the Rewind Quirk are endless and Midoriya learns that it can be used to maximize his own quirk. In real life, Rewind could prevent any serious damage from happening to someone by the vigilant use of this quirk. It even has the power to stave off death in its final moments or erase illness.
The ability to accurately see into the future can sometimes be more of a burden than an asset. It requires a rational mind to handle this power and not abuse it for selfish purposes. Sir Nighteye's Foresight Quirk allows him to see another individual's future for up to an hour.
There's no limit to how far Nighteye can look ahead with Foresight, which is where the quirk can trigger temptations. Foresight is an impeccable ability for those who can exhibit restraint with it and it's a quirk that could make life easier in so many ways.
