I cook mostly from scratch as well. My degree is in wildlife biology, and there's no chance in hell you can afford daycare on the kind of jobs you get in that field, so I ended up being a mostly stay-at-home mom with some part-time jobs on the side when our kids were small.

I have to give my sister, my mother-in-law and sister-in-laws some credit too. They are wonderful cooks as well!
