Usually dogs like to lick their own penises (lucky dogs), but there really is no harm done if a pooch tongues your tallywhacker. Species: Dog Breed: Papillon/chihuahua Age: 2-5 years
Hi doc-
Little background- Austin is 4- very active, outgoing. He has Addison's disease which is treated with DOCP every 25 days( next shot this coming Tuesday ). Anyway!, he has been licking his winkie( silly word I know- his penis) for about a day or so, fairly often! He will even stop mid walk, lay down and go for it! He is fixed, doesent hump anything either. It's all inflamed too. It looks like he's urinating ok- what could it be? Allergy? Also he has a condition where the foreskin dosent entirely cover his winkie, but I've never had an issue with that- and I've had him 2 yrs. sorry I rambled!!

Dogs lick each other’s privates for a variety of reasons. Dogs may lick the scrotum and penis to identify themselves as members of their own pack, or they may do it to transfer scent from one dog to another. Some dogs will also lick the genitals out of curiosity or sexual arousal. Males tend to be more prone than females are to this behavior because they have an increased need for nutrients that come from licking these areas. The act can also cause injury, such as inflammation around the lips and mouth caused by bacteria in urine and feces in breeds with short coats. If your male dog is licking his private parts excessively, you should get him checked by a vet right away!
Dogs have heightened senses and may lick other dog’s pee to learn about them. Male dogs are often interested in their sex life by licking the urine of another male canine! Male pet owners should be wary when they see that their pup is hanging around on a patch of grass where he can smell an unknown setter or spaniel; this could lead him into trouble if his curiosity leads to some piddling himself.
Pups often lick and groom their mothers, but it’s not to show affection. Two strongly bonded canine pals will lick and groom one another in displays of friendship and love. They give the “doggy kiss” with dripping tongues for a display of affection before laying down together on top or next to one another as they sleep soundly after playtime is over.
When dogs groom each other, it’s more than just a way to get clean. It signals that the dog is joining the pack and showing they are part of their community. If your bathroom is all yours, don’t be too concerned. But if there are others using it as well, or sometimes other people will come over to use our private showers with us and we can’t always gauge their hygiene habits then maybe not so much because who knows what they have been up to before coming into a shared space like that. So, make sure when someone does go for a squatty-potty moment during their morning routine – just remember take out the trash!
It is common for dogs to urinate inside after going outside, and there can be any number of reasons why this happens. Your dog may have health problems like diabetes or kidney disease that make it uncomfortable when they go out in the cold weather and their poor bladder control causes them to pee on your carpet while you’re home watching TV! They also might not be getting enough housetraining because a new pet sibling came along – with two pets around, one doesn’t need as much attention, so both are likely less disciplined about potty training (especially if you work all day). I am really disgusted at myself for doing this and to be honest I don't even know why I did. Im a 19 year old dude and I just guess I just got overly horny and did stupid shit but that's no excuse.
