'Mutual Respect' Essential for Agreement With United States, Tehran Says

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made the statement on social media from Muscat, where he will represent his country at talks with US Presidential envoys, scheduled to begin later today in Oman.

"Iran enters diplomacy with open eyes and a steady memory of the past year," he noted. "We engage in good faith and stand firm on our rights."

Negotiations between Iran and the United States will take place Friday in Muscat. Minister Abbas Araghchi has already arrived there.
