I think muslims are human beings, as much as christians or other faiths. These are the basic attributes Muslims should have, though you will find exceptions as the population is almost near to 20% of the Global population
You will find them in almost all countries of the world except vatican.
First of all Muslims are the only community in the world who believe in one God (Allah) which doesnt have picture or statue and which is not partnered with any other creatures, humans or Animals. They have One God (Allah), one book (Holy Quran) one Prophet (Mohammed ( peace be upon him) and they pray toward

Instead of churches/temples/Synagogues they go to Mosque
They fast from sunrise to sunset during entire month of Ramadan. After this months pray they celeberate Eid ul Fitr.
They have family life as you do, they have kids as you do.
They eat any thing but halal food and they are not allowed to kill any animal except for food
They are not supposed to do adultery, though some of them do
They cant make money by cheating and doing business such as ,gambling,night clubs, Alcohol, drugs, interest. they have to see if their income is halal or haram. They cant have haram income.
They cant trouble any living thing, unless for self defence
They are not supposed to backbite, though some of them are not keen on this
They wear non revealing cloths, un like many so called open societies
Their women dont mix up with other men in public and private as it is not allowed for them
They read their holy book Quran whenever possible and pray 5 times a day
They help poor,orphans and patients which they think its their responsibility
They think giving certain percentage of their income to the poor & needy is not thir genorosity its the right for thise who are in need.
They are like any other person on earth. There are good, bad in them as in every community.
They are not aliens or special creatures.

I'm told I hit people like a gale force with my enthusiasm for a lot of things. I'm open-minded, LOVE to listen, and if you can get on board with my dorky humor I'll be your ride-or-die for life.
I'm out-of-state for college, but I've got an amazing home to come back to, with two awesome parents, a teenage brother, a 5-year old sister/my adopted child, and a 2-year old brother/precious squish. I work hard so they'll be proud of what I become, and so that I'll be proud too. I want to work in a prison as a counseler so I can do my part to rehabilitate inmates and contribute to a solution for the prison system. I want to make a difference.
I'm also a Muslim convert, so I pray five times a day and wear a hijab alongside everything else. I do my best to remember Allah, and contribute to my community and my society as a Muslimah. It's a big part of my identity, but it's far from my only definition.
Muslims are like people, with different views, and hobbies, and goals, and situations. If you start with that understanding, you'll have a much more accurate worldview than if you tried grouping us into one collection of common traits.
