“During those difficult times, I woke up for Tahajjud because things started to feel too heavy; at that point, I knew I could only rely on Allah SWT to help ease the burden I was feeling. I would also read stories of the Prophet and his Companions. Understanding the Sirah of the Prophet reminded me of the importance of being patient after trying to manage her eczema.”

Muslim Families Network Society (MFNS) is a non-profit organization that is working tirelessly to enhance the physical, social, and spiritual well being of individuals and families in Calgary and area by providing education and awareness, poverty relief and social supports based on Islamic principles and values.
Below are some of our humble accomplishments
The program is aimed at empowering youth and children through engagement in various activities that integrate Islamic perspective and practices into traditional Canadian formats. In addition to learning the skills of the traditional format (e.g. leadership, healthy relationships, mentoring, role modelling, and teamwork), youth and children learn to see that the two systems can be complementary and that they can be balanced.
Single mother’s self-sufficiency program, that aims single mothers by teaching them life skills, healthy communication, basic and financial literacy and focusing on long term support by providing free counseling services to improve the mental health in order for them to find solutions for their unique situation.
This program is based on the premise that every young person has the potential to become a good communicator and leader. MFNS, in collaboration with Toastmasters, offers a program to develop this potential in Muslim youth between the ages of 11 and 16 for eight weeks. Toastmasters provide the curriculum as well as facilitators who work with MFNS.
There are in fact multiple gaps that need to be addressed in order for the Muslims to successfully adapt to the Canadian environment and for Canada to be enriched by the diversity of cultures. The clients MFNS serves come from a variety of countries, each with its distinct culture. There is the obvious gap between the home culture and the Canadian environment, but there is also the gap between the home culture and the Islamic perspective, which is not always obvious. And the third gap is between the perception of Muslims and the reality of who they are and what their beliefs are.
Programs such as seminars, conferences, and workshops about healthy families, and other community challenges are focused that relates to the family unit. Annual Family Wellness Program and social issues conference on the issue of domestic violence.
The essentials are considered to be food, clothing, furnishings, and the means of finding employment. MFNS believes that without these basics, individuals and families cannot move to the critical steps of integrating into society. MFNS generally supplements the support available through other organizations. But in some cases, it is the sole provider of these services to individuals and families.

Dr. Ali Al-Saadoon is the Founder and CEO of the Muslim Family Foundation. Although Dr. Al-Saadoon is a Civil Engineer by profession, he found his passion in volunteering his time and helping various community service groups. After three decades of involvement of serving on the board of several non-profit organizations and community work, and as a member of the Inland Empire Muslim community, he recognized the immediate need to establish a professional organization to deal with the social issues related to individuals and families, and the daily challenges they face. He concentrated his attention and energy to focus on the family and the increasing global, diverse and dynamic social impact.
Our office is currently closed due to COVID 19, but we can be contacted via phone or email durring normal business hours.

The objective of FATE is to aid Muslim children currently in the foster care system. We advocate, counsel, train, and educate Muslim families in the DFW Metroplex. Our quest is to help them come forward and revive the beautiful Sunnah (Prophetic tradition) of Kafala (fostering).
We create and manage a platform where Muslim families can connect with subject matter experts. In this way, we aim to have their questions answered about the many different aspects of Kafala – legal, spiritual, psychological, etc.
We lay the groundwork to provide peace of mind to Muslim families who are providing foster care services to the community. We are diligently working to increase the number of licensed Muslim foster families by helping to create the personal connections that will provide a dependable support network.
