You are deeply insane if you believe for an instant that we're past the PC era. We are so embedded in PC and have become so socially repressed that American society is starting to snap. Maybe you're kidding, though. Or maybe it's now the new thing for the so-called revolutionaries to associate PC with Clinton and, therefore, say it's over because the Clinton era is becoming distant. And as we gather around in increasingly tight cliques and refuse to associate with others, remove ourselves from normal media outlets, read only watered down and/or single-sided news sources, we start to lose sight.

I'm saying there are two camps (more or less) co-existing. I believe that because they believe that. People who use "he/she" exist, yes, but that's background now. PC is not foreground like it used to be. And part of that is because we are used to seeing women doctors and they don't want to be "separate but equal" by calling themselves Drs. or Ds. Doctress sounds rediculous and they went to the same schools and deserve the same title and respect as doctors. That camp does exist, and it's helping to normalize the language and the radicalism.

Oh, I see. Sorry. This is the thread where people don't get my jokes, I guess. The "doctress" and "dress" camp does not exist anywhere. Doctor is a neutral title. There is no masculinity suggested. I was playing off of Dragonfly's Mistress of Arts versus Master of Arts degree. Should we get an icon for everytime I say something facetious, ironic or farcical?

Yeah, I was using that school of thought and when I was describing Doctress. Plenty of women in SAG proudly call themselves an "actor" for reasons I described. I think we're past the window for creating "Doctress." Eeesh.

So my friend and musical collaborator has this problem.... I recently fixed him up with a former co-worker of mine (on whom I had a crush until she informed me she was straight!)... Well, I am not well versed in sexual addictions, but he said he is unable to connect to her, despite the fact he really digs her and all. He said that after intercourse, he just wants to be left alone for a bit and she wants to snuggle. He claims porn does not arouse him at all, though he watches it all the time. I'm thinking he's desensitized and that maybe his issue is reflective of a deeper emotional problem. Yet, he's in NA treatment for addictions already and is sure it is simply his addictive nature that sex is meaningless to him. I had no advice for him.... Any insight, Fajwat?
