Motion Designer (Brand + Product Motion)
Digital nomads. Work from anywhereCompany: Omnilume
About Us
Omnilume™ is an AI-native product design studio working on complex, high-stakes digital products across a range of industries. We are hiring a Motion Designer to work across our client engagements and our own studio projects, so you will move between briefs, brands, and product contexts rather than sitting on a single account.
Omnilume™ partners with clients who are pushing the boundaries in software, hardware, and emerging technologies. The studio values experimentation, rapid iteration, and thoughtful design craft in every engagement. Team members work in a highly collaborative, distributed environment with a focus on continuous learning and innovation.
About the Role
This is a pure motion role. You will bring static brand and product surfaces to life: short-form video and explainers for social and campaigns, animated data visualizations that make complex ideas legible, product motion and micro-interactions, and reusable motion systems that keep everything consistent. You care as much about timing and easing as you do about story.
What You'll Do
Brand and communications motion (primary)
* Produce short-form video and explainers for LinkedIn and campaigns, including content tied to specific industry events and launches.
* Turn complex or technical concepts into clear, dynamic, data-driven motion and animated infographics.
* Create title sequences, motion typography, animated logos, and brand stings.
* Build and maintain a motion system: templates, transitions, and brand motion guidelines that scale across formats (LinkedIn, vertical social, presentations, web).
Product and interactive motion (secondary)
* Design product motion that carries meaning, not decoration: state transitions, loading and processing states, micro-interactions, and animated UI elements.
* Specify motion clearly for engineering, with clean handoff via Rive runtimes or Lottie and dotLottie.
Across both
* Own pieces from concept to delivery: moodboards, storyboards, style frames, animatics, and final renders.
* Partner closely with communications, product, and engineering.
* Keep a consistent visual language across everything that moves.
Required Skills
* 5+ years or more of motion design experience, with a strong reel.
* Mastery of motion fundamentals: timing, easing, composition, and typography in motion.
* Demonstrable range across brand and communications video and product or UI motion. Strong in one and a fast learner in the other is fine.
* Comfort animating data, information, and technical concepts so they read clearly.
* A systems mindset: you build reusable templates and components, not just one-offs.
* Strong written communication, an async-friendly style, and the ability to self-direct.
* Comfortable adapting to different brands and briefs, and handling confidential client work under NDA.
* Availability to commit 40 hours per week long-term. This is a full-time engagement, not a side project.
Tools and stack (current)
You do not need every tool below, but you should be fluent across the core and a fast learner on the rest.
* Core motion and video: After Effects, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, Cinema 4D (bonus).
* Product and interactive motion: Rive (state machines, data binding), Lottie and dotLottie (Lottie Creator), Figma (Smart Animate).
* Procedural and browser-native: Cavalry, Jitter.
* 3D and visual: Blender, Spline (bonus).
AI-augmented production (optional, but a real plus)
We run an AI-augmented pipeline and value Designers who can direct these tools well while keeping craft and brand intact. Experience with any of the following stands out:
* Generative video: Veo, Runway Gen-4, Kling, Higgsfield.
* AI image and asset generation: Nano Banana, Flux, Midjourney.
* Pipeline and tooling: fal-ai, Claude and Claude Code.
* Supporting tools: ElevenLabs (voice), Adobe Firefly and Generative Extend.
NOTE: AI is augmentation here, not a replacement for craft. We care about taste, direction, and a finished frame, not prompt volume.
Bonus points
* Experience across technical or complex product domains (for example fintech, healthtech, deep tech, or hardware).
* A track record with data-driven and infographic motion.
* A clear point of view on where AI fits in a serious motion workflow without diluting craft.
Engagement
* Full-time, fully remote engagement, working across studio and client projects.
* Meaningful overlap with European working hours (CET)
NOTE: Applications without a reel/portfolio link will not be reviewed.
