A single mother was today convicted of having a "torrid" affair with a 15-year-old schoolboy.
Mother-of-three Janice Harding was found guilty of two charges of indecently assaulting the teenager, with whom she allegedly had sex up to 12 times a week.
Harding, 29, who now lives at The Beacon in Falmouth, Cornwall, was acquitted of indecently assaulting a second teenage boy on two occasions.
The jury of five men and seven women took over six hours to reach their verdicts at Truro Crown Court.
She had denied four counts of indecently assaulting boys under the age of 16. Harding wept in the dock after the verdicts.
Judge Giles Forrester adjourned sentence until September 3 to enable a pre-sentence report to be prepared, and allowed Harding's bail to continue.
He told her "all the court's options are open to me, you must understand that."
The Judge told her to read nothing into being allowed bail "other then the court considers it appropriate in the circumstances."
Mrs Harding said after the case that she had no comment to make.
During the trial, prosecutor Michael Brabin said that Harding was 27 when the offences began, and had daughters aged nine and four and a son less than a year old.
The teenager with whom Harding had the long affair "hit it off" with her when he and his family moved near to her house in the town where she then lived.
Eventually he began to go round to her home on a daily basis, and was still at school when they started having sex, said the prosecutor.
They started kissing when he was playing with a PlayStation in her bedroom and it led to sexual intercourse.
The boy's mother became suspicious and sent him to stay with relatives, who he told what had happened.
For a few months in the spring and summer of 2000 the boy was "besotted" with Harding, said Mr Brabin, who did not suggest intercourse took place without his full co-operation.
"A torrid affair took place between them," said the prosecutor.
He said Harding twice had sex with another 15-year-old boy who knew about her relationship with the other teenager.
The first boy, now a 17-year-old student, said in video link evidence that he had been a virgin before meeting Harding.
"She knew my age - three months after my 15th birthday, that is when we were seeing each other," he said.
They had sex in the afternoon and nearly every night, and he slept at her house three times a week. But their relationship was now over.
Harding, who did not give evidence to the court told police she first had sex with the first boy on his 16th birthday.
She said the youngster had been upset that day as he had not received many presents.
Harding said the boy stayed at her house that night, when they had sex for the first time.
Harding told the police that on his 16th birthday the boy got only "a tenner" from his mum, adding: "He was upset because he was not given much."
She said that night they had sexual intercourse, instigated by the boy.
"We were play fighting. Then he just grabbed me and started kissing me," she said.
"It just happened like that. We must have had feelings for each other before but we had never thought about it."
The second boy told the court he had sexual intercourse twice with Harding before his 16th birthday.
He said on one occasion: "Jan told me to go upstairs and look at her new bed. Then she started kissing me.
"It was a shock at first but I just let her."
He said he slept with her twice but felt bad because he knew she was meant to be going out with his schoolfriend.
In her police interview Harding denied ever having had sex with the second teenager.
The first boy's mother said when she realised what had been going on between Harding and her son, she couldn't bear "the deceit and the hurt."

Toni Stowers-Moore, 53, is charged with statutory rape/sex offense in which the defendant is six years older than the victim, incest with a child, and sexual battery. Detectives said the boy was 15 when it happened.
Prosecutors say they have phone recordings between Stowers-Moore and her relatives that captured her confession. She allegedly claimed sex with the teen was the only way to remove a sexual demon from him - and to protect others he might try to hurt.
"Now she says it was rape. But prior to this point, it has been a consensual sexual act that she did as some kind of religious sacrifice to save her other innocent people," explained Durham District Attorney Tracey Cline.
Cline said prior to her arrest, Stowers-Moore was employed as a teacher's assistant with Durham Public Schools.
"It's bigger than just this child. This is a lady that works in the school system as a teacher," said Cline.
Stowers-Moore rejected a plea deal requiring her to register as a sex offender. Tuesday, she came to court hoping for a jury trial.
But prosecutors say several key witnesses are missing - including Stowers-Moore's daughter, son, and the alleged victim.
"The grandson has a warrant out for his arrest. They currently don't know where the child is because they've been looking for him for quite some time. So, how long exactly will this case be held over?" asked defense attorney Robert Harris.
"There's a realization from the defendant and the defendant's family [that] this incest has been going on before with this same victim in this same family," Cline offered.
The judge issued an order to arrest at least one missing witness. Cline said she hoped for a trial by the end of the week.
If convicted, Stowers-Moore faces a sentence of up to 12 years in jail.

I think you are looking for a sugar daddy to spoil you by giving you money and other things. However, be in the know that you are looking at the wrong man. Suppose it was you whose daughter was sleeping with your husband? How would you feel? What would you do to your daughter? That very answer is what your mother will do when she finds out about this. And that liking and favouritism she has for your sister will increase ten times when she finds out.
Imagine getting a child with someone you are calling a father? A man who has slept with your mother? Why do you want to break her heart? This man could be having other affairs outside and could infect you even with HIV. Sleeping with somebody you call your dad is a curse to you. If you got a child with him, what would that child call your mother? Stop thinking like a girl who has never stepped inside a school, you are a Third Year student in the university. Concentrate on your studies as this man is only wasting your time.
By law, he is and remains to be your father. Your story is a bit ambiguous because it is not the resentment to your sister but the intimate love you have with your dad. The African culture and tradition do not support this and history will judge you harshly. Someone who sees your mother naked should never do that to you and at the very age you are. This is incest and an abomination. There are many single unmarried men that can date you. He is not the only remaining man on earth. Stop this to be at peace with yourself and with others.
This is one of those things in life that are just unacceptable. It is probably the highest form of betrayal you have both exposed your mother to and without a doubt, you ought to find a way to deal with this. I believe this is why you have shared your issue with us so before I give you some pointers as to how you could deal with this, let's put your sit uation in the right context.
The first and very solid fact is that no "love" can exist and grow between a girl and her father. Real dad or step dad, that man is your mother's husband and as such you remain to be his daughter. Indeed he can like you and even love you very much but not with the kind of love that would allow you to get intimate with him. You are therefore not in love with him rather you are only infatuated. It is common for girls to be infatuated with their fathers but this only lasts a short while then they grow out of it. Make no mistake about this; there can never be any true love between a girl and her father. But of course there can be many other kinds of love, just not the kind you are implying. He did this out of lust and you participated in it out of ignorance. If anything, it is in order to say that he took advantage of his daughter.
You both need to find a way of dealing with this but you cannot do this if you don't accept that what you did was unacceptable. Often, confession is the best approach to closure. However, in your situation, this may not be the best. There is no way you can continue living under the same roof with those two. Yes, it is about time you moved out and let them be as you try and find your way around this life. Living in that house will only lead you back to the same situation and the consequences are unimaginable. Have you thought about what could happen if you conceived a child with him? Have you even remotely imagined what would happen if she got wind of this matter or if she caught you in the act?
Please know that nothing good can come out of this and this is one of those situations you really need to quit while you are ahead. Talk to them about getting you an apartment so they can enjoy their marriage as you find your way through life. Yes, she may favour your sister over you but this should not be an excuse to mess her marriage. That man is not straight and it seems he can even do this with his own daughter. Like you put it, it is difficult because you see him every day of your life. Get a way out of that house and with time all this will end.
