But what if your parents were porn stars?
In an eye-opening Reddit thread , people who claim their parents were adult movie stars have shared their experiences.
User Zer0eater claimed his mother was a Penthouse Pet and also did some softcore porn.
He says he always knew about his mother’s career, so it was never a surprise.
He said: “The problem was never me knowing so much, as OTHER kids finding out.”
“I learned early not to tell ANYONE. Every few years word would get around on the playground, and fist-fights would start.”
“It wasn’t until high-school though, that some of the other students were 18 and could go to the strip club my mother worked at. More fights.”
‘All in all, it made me pretty f—-d up. My standards for what women should look like are incredibly high.’
He also claimed his exposure to the porn industry impacted his relationship with women and sex.

“I was told my entire life, while seeing pictures of my mom’s friends naked, ‘This isn’t sexual’. That f—-d me up.”
Many other users shared stories on the thread, although they couldn’t be verified.
Reddit user rrosulek said: “I have very early memories of seeing hundreds of porn videos lying around her office.”
“Honestly children are just blind. I will say that being around that environment started me being sexual at an early age.”
“Once I was older I kinda used it to brag to my friends.”
But on balance, rrosulek didn’t feel like it had greatly affected his life.
He added: “Overall, I feel like I am relatively unscathed, it’s just something my mom did. I did stumble upon a video of her once and quickly exited the site.”
One user who goes by the name BadBadNotThisD–k claims to have found out about his father’s acting side career when he stumbled across his pornography collection.
He said: “I found out by looking through my Dad’s old stash of porn. Turns out, more than half of the movies in his box also star him.”
In fact, the man claimed he was 20 minutes into watching one of the videos before he realized his dad was in it.
He said: “I then saw a familiar tattoo on the dude’s arm. It seemed to read out as my sister’s name in cursive.”

Another user, called throwawaymumporn, claimed to have found out about his mom’s pornography work at the age of 11.
He said the timing was critical since, had he been older, he didn’t think he would have dealt with it so well.
He said: “Sincerely, it would have been far worst even just a year later.”
“If I had been a full on bratty teenager when I got the truth, I probably would have been more pissed than that.”
“I love my mother. Even though it’s really, really a turn off when I stumble upon her work while trying to find ‘solo time visual support’. She has canceled so much of my erections (sic).”
It’s not the first time chat on Reddit has turned racy, with a 25-year-old escort, who charges $425 an hour and has bedded over 1,000 men, revealing all in a very candid thread .
