A mother-of-two called the police after finding out that her 13-year-old daughter had been sending and receiving nude pictures of herself and other teens on her tablet computer.
The mom, who has not been named to protect her identity, from Dinwiddie County, Virginia, was horrified when she discovered sexually explicit content on her daughter’s electronic devices.
Her daughter had been 'sexting' boys a series of naked images on her cell phone and tablet computer and had received similar pictures back in response.

Her mother told WTVR : ‘What scares me is... this much bigger than we realize. How many others are doing this and you don't realize it.’
The parents became aware of their 13-year-old’s activity when their other child heard voices in her bedroom around 4 a.m.
They punished her and took away her electronic devices.
But when they had a quick look through the device they were unprepared for what they found.
‘Looking through the phone and the tablet we did find, sexual pictures, conversations, that were very inappropriate for her age,’ she said.
However, while none of the images showed their daughter with anyone else she was sending most pictures to boys who would then text one back to the eighth grader.
But worryingly, one 'sext' involved a high school senior.
‘We believe them to be 17-18ish... Definitely older than her, did request they have sex,’ she said.
‘Everybody wanted to be her friend, because according to these people, she was cool now.’
The girl could face criminal charges.
But her concerned parents said that they called in the sheriff's office to protect her.
‘We did this now to protect her. For now and in the future, because this could get worse, she could be taken,’ she said.

However, the older teens could face felony charges depending on their ages.
Now, the mom is urging other parents to do more to protect their kids.
She said parents should start by having all electronics fitted with parental controls to keep children away from dangerous apps.

After turning heads by posting very revealing braless photos in the snow wearing nothing more than low-rise bikini bottoms and Dsquared2 furry coat (that just barely covered her nipples), Hurley, 55, told fans who was really the person behind the camera taking the sexy pics. And it's not who you might expect.
"Far be it for me to suggest the tabloids get their facts muddled, but these pics were in fact taken by my 80 year old mother. Not entirely sure if that puts minds at rest or not 😘," Hurley tweeted .
Hurley posted the two seductive photos on Monday to her Instagram feed. She simply captioned the post, "How could I resist?"
Plenty of celebs and fans alike flocked to the comments section to compliment the star's sexy look. "You are not human 🔥," said Ru-Paul's Drag Race judge Michelle Visage.
"You are an outrage," actress Caroline Quentin wrote. "I LOVE YOU SO MUCH."
One of Hurley's fans said, "How could you resist? If you've got it ...flaunt it 😜😜❤️🔥."
Hurley previously explained that she prefers opting for unconventional ways to keep her body toned . "I don't work out, per se, but I am very active," she told Extra . "I do a lot of exercise, but it's really the gardening… cutting down a hedge, using my chainsaw to cut down a tree, logging, all of that stuff I do. So, I'm very active."

The issue of nudity and being naked comes up a lot in parenting: and people have lots of different views on it.
Some were shocked when Stacey Solomon revealed she still baths with her sons, aged 9 and 5 .
And that story, about the mum who won't let her husband bathe with their daughters , really rocked the internet.
And now BBC presenter Victoria Derbyshire has ruffled a few feathers by revealing that she walks around naked in front of her sons - aged 11 and 13.
Victoria had a right-side mastectomy in 2015 after being diagnosed with breast cancer, and says walking around in her birthday suit in her house is 'no big deal'.
Speaking to Radio Times she said: "In my house I don’t have body issues. I have a partner and two boys... I walk around naked in front of them and it’s no big deal.
"I am happy for them to see what a mum of two who’s had breast cancer looks like."
Here at MFM we definitely take an 'each to their own' approach about this kind of stuff - we think Victoria might have got everyone talking because her boys are that bit older - in fact, one's a teenager.
