I did some cosplay edit looks of Scorpion, Kai and Kano from Mortal Kombat for fun today.
I haven’t posted any of my progress shots on tumblr, but I finished my Scorpion cosplay in time for Magfest this weekend! Scorpion and Sub-Zero will be at Katsucon this year along with many other cosplays! I post more progress and completed photos on my instagram @phalafelcosplays

Everyone thought it was going to end in a Fatality!
But in the end, they were able to develop far more than just a Friendship!
Always liked how these two evolved over the course of the Mortal Kombat timeline. Plus it was a golden opportunity to draw them in their classic attire from MK2, which still happens to be my favourites (despite the insane, somewhat unfair CPU difficultly).

I felt in love with the design aspects. It's such an interesting character and yet I like the details. It was a challenging costume to built and researching. The process for this costume, I made the patterns form scratch from top to bottom. I mostly used EVA foam, craftfoam, worbla, puffy glue, foam clay, LED's and fabrics such as leather and vinyl. I sew the dress and these leaves tendrils that this character has. I added wires inside them the tendrils to give it a "natural movement". The was the most challenging part of this cosplay. I actually research about molten lava or how it looks like and I needed to make the painting realistic by adding a lot of texture by using decorative sand filler for a rocky feel to it. The wig its made out of foam and leather. This was the most challenging cosplay.
Cosplay has giving me a lot of confidence and trusting on my skills. I have grown as a person and I have made a lot of friends. It's a passion of what you love doing and have the desire to share the world what you create.
We all have obstacles in life to overcome. No matter how hard the situation is, don't give up and believe what is right for you
