More Is More, the exquisite second volume about Tony Duquette, delves into the creative process and personal life of this great American designer renowned for his fantastical artwork, sculpture, jewelry, gardens, film sets, and interiors. Using "The Enchanted Vision"--a three-day lecture delivered by Duquette at UCLA in the early 1970s--as its springboard, More Is More conveys through lavish illustrations Duquette's artistic credo on the arts of living and the living arts. Author Hutton Wilkinson explains Duquette's design philosophy, creative process, and studio practices, as well as the evolution of his exceptional style and vision. While Duquette's own work receives full attention, an entire chapter is devoted to the artwork and persona of his wife, Elizabeth "Beegle". This personal dimension is further enhanced by countless anecdotes about the fabulous life they led together: their international travels, active social lives among royalty and the jet-set, their many dinner parties and gatherings, their homes and studios. The final chapter reveals that Duquette's legacy is alive and well as Wilkinson continues to develop the Duquette style and expand the brand across the globe.
Hutton Wilkinson is president of Tony Duquette, Inc., where he continues Duquette's business as a jewelry and interiors designer. He is also president of the Elsie de Wolfe Foundation. He lives at Dawnridge, Duquette's Beverly Hills estate. John Galliano is chief designer of Christian Dior in Paris.

THIS BOOK EXPLAINS THE MAGIC THAT TONY DUQUETTE MADE! I knew and loved him; I did not think that it could be explained. I was wrong. This book is beautifully written by a protege who appreciated every single moment of his life with this fascinating and mercurial character; and his beautiful and mesmerizing wife. It is a totally fascinating story of totally fascinating people. Hutton captures the magic of Tony and Beegle. Which is like trying to capture a firefly! or two! Astounding and astonishing. And every word true. I saw it. And I was very lucky to be involved in a small part of it. . Tony Duquette and the life he led and the things he created with those all around him.....now; that WAS MAGIC! Penelope
Delivery & packaging of product were excellent. Not as interested as I thought I'd be - by the photos of the decorated rooms. But after I read through everything, I may have an entirely different feeling about them. We shall see :)
In this book you will find page after page to be so thought invoking. You will not be able to put it down. I wish I could have known Tony and Beegle they were such interesting people and so full of ideas. If you want an interesting read I highly suggest this book, for it takes your mind to many places.
A friend told me I was Tony Duquette reincarnated! Love the book, and beautiful photographs! A must for any interior designer!
Have not read it yet, only perused the pictures, which is what I really needed the book for. Fantastic if you love over-the-top decor, and it's a study in how to do element-repeated sculpture with inexpensive materials. My only complaint is that there aren't more colorplates, but sometimes that is all that was available then. Duquette was unique and his work kept eyes dazzled!
More history of Tony Duquette than I cared to read about and quite a lot of jewelry stuff he designed. His interiors were what I was looking for and they were more like movie sets than anything that you could duplicate in your home.
Great pictures and text of an over-the-top life, home, and worldview. Not for everyone ... but interesting to read about people who aren't afraid of expressing themselves and doing what they want.
I cannot begin to say what a wonderful book this is. It's beautiful, inspirational, everything a book about Tony Duquette should be. The author has given us great insight into the life and mind of Mr Duquette, showing us how he worked, thought and lived. A must book for every creative person. I cannot put it down.
