I regularly enjoy playing indie games and student projects as I think that games with lower budgets can often have less limitations on creating a commercially successful games and the pressures that come with it and have more freedom with experimental designs, controversial themes or topics and more non-active game play.
History With Bullying? Besides being bullied a lot throughout school for having names and surnames that were hard to pronounce and being very socially awkward and quiet, I got picked on a lot for my weight that lasted even after high school and believe or not as I got into cosplay.
I was called fat, ugly and other nasty things on some forums and different social media sites that really affected me. After it affecting me badly I slumped into a low self esteem depression and kept eating to combat my problems.

History with Gaming? I’ve been exposed to games since I was born as I grew up with a mother that enjoyed playing them. Up until I was 8 or so I enjoyed playing whatever we had – Crash Bandicoot, Harry Potter, Spyro, Silent Hill (my early exposure to horror has influenced me), Tomb Raider.
The Play Station was my main console of choice and I would spend hours playing games with my Mum and on my own. It wasn’t until I was around 8 I started developing my own taste of games. I picked up a PS2 and played Kingdom Hearts when it was an early release game and I fell in love.
Throughout my childhood and those rocky, pre-adolescent years, games were what really got me through. Kingdom Hearts taught me a lot of childhood lessons about friendship and courage which I really needed as I was much of an isolated child, consistently moving houses and schools.
Talking with a friend at school one day, she said she would lend me a game with ‘One of the character from Kingdom Hearts in it’ and it was the game that really began it all for me, Final Fantasy VIII.
There’s something really special about picking up a game at a time of your life where you feel you can relate or learn something from, it’s strangely personal and Final Fantasy VIII was that game.

I was embarrassed and the outfit was falling apart but I got on stage and did a skit based on a pretty awful fan-fiction my cosplay partner had written and had a truly wonderful time.
I suppose that marks the point I decided to come out to the world as the fanatic I am and it’s what started the journey that’s brought me here being able to meet so many new people.
Tell Us About Your Tattoos: I have a full Final Fantasy VIII sleeve featuring Edea up top, Griever on my inner arm and Squall on my forearm, on my right shoulder I also have FITHOS LUSEC WECOS VINOSEC, which is the anagram Succession Of Witches and Love from the FF series.
My tattoos very much show who I am, I have been told that “You looked better without them” and “You’ve ruined your body” but those comments are small compared to the compliments I get.
It doesn’t affect my life in any way, just means for cosplay I choose costumes with less arm showing or I compensate with makeup OR just rock it out and not care!

I was young and lonely and the story about learning to love really stuck with me as the narrative was way past my age bracket, that never quite being able to understand or deconstruct the narrative caused me to play it every year or so until I was much older.
It remains my favorite game of all time but most importantly it introduced me to the Final Fantasy series which has been a rock in my life since discovered.

It’s a series I’m passionate about, that had me analyzing and making critical comparisons, thinking constructively about games and eventually lead to my choice of choosing game development as a career.
Over the years I’ve found studios and game series I’ve really liked; Team Ico, Atlus(SMT), Suda51/Grasshopper, H.Kojima and that have all inspired me in ways that I hope to make games one day.
