š° Money Goals. Rule #2
2ļøā£ rule when it comes to finances is the words āto stopā, āquitā, or āendā. āI want to stop being somewhereā, āstop being in a certain stateā, āstop being at a certain financial levelā.
š§ You should avoid using (Iām talking to your conscious mind now) the words āstopā, āquitā, and āendā. Your conscious mind hears everything ā otherwise, you wouldn't be understanding what Iām saying. For example, if your boss comes in and says, āPlease stop submitting reports every month. The tax office has decided we now report quarterlyā, ā and if we didnāt hear or process that, weād lose our jobs. The conscious mind handles this perfectly ā thereās no need to demonize your brain.
š But the subconscious ā thatās like a driver whoās ready to take you anywhere, anytime, as soon as you tell them where to go. Imagine you get into a taxi and say, āI want to leave the central square. Iām tired of being hereā. At best, the driver might drive you through random neighborhoods and drop you off wherever they feel like. At worst, theyāll say, āMaāam, get out. Iām not taking you anywhereā.
š The same thing happens in your mind when your financial goal sounds like āstop being somethingā, āstop earning too littleā, or āend being poorā. Your subconscious has no idea what you actually want.
šÆ So weāre left with two scenarios: either your conscious mind has to work very hard to get you where you want to be, or ā we reprogram your subconscious without using those words.
