Money Goals: Multitasking
🔁 So, let me repeat this once more: the feeling of exhaustion is familiar to those who pursue their goals consciously. Why is that?
🧠 Because your mind, in reality, can’t handle that many tasks at once. Moreover, what we call multitasking is actually, let’s say, task-switching. You’ve probably already heard that we’re not truly multitaskers — we just switch between tasks, and each time, the brain spends a lot of energy trying to refocus on the new task, even if it feels like it’s happening quickly.
⚙️ The exception is tasks that you perform subconsciously. That is, you’ve trained yourself so well to do something automatically that your brain doesn’t spend any energy on it anymore. If you drive a car, or if you have a dish you’ve cooked 200 times, or if you have a hobby you’ve practiced for many years — there are definitely processes you no longer think about, they just happen.
🤷 A sign of such processes is when someone asks you: “How do you do that?”, and you freeze and say: “I don’t know, I just do it. I just do”. If such processes exist, it means your brain can perform them subconsciously — without bringing them to the conscious level. So far, it all makes sense.
