This little Clarks Grebe was calling for mom who was close by diving to try and find him food.
It’s time to think of an excuse why I’m not studying!
A fawn White tail deer runs to its mom. My wife and I were on vacation for the last couple of weeks visiting our daughter and her family in Colorado. I took this photo at Rocky Mountain Arsenal wildlife refuge.

[19:29] Aɴᴇ Lуση Ɓαηg™: You're giving me that "try it again and ill pick a different nursing home" look
It's been a few years at least since our last photo. I'm honestly not even sure how long. Thanks for being a constant in my life for the past 5 years and counting, madre.
In the loving memory of my mom who passed away early this morning . . .
This may very well be the last shot of Mom with her (6) owlets. The last three times I was out, there were no signs of the Dad. People are speculating that he was either killed by a prey bird or sick(possibly snake bite).
He spent his days bringing in insects every 10 minutes feeding the owlets. Now that burden is on Mom. Yesterday reports are that Mom has moved some of the owlets around to bigger vacant prairie dog holes. The bottom line is I doubt she'll be able to feed all of them on her own.
This was taken in March of last year. Since the first of December, Mom has been through so much with her health and has a terminal illness. We are very blessed to be able to celebrate this birthday with her. Not posting this to be a downer, but to be grateful for what we have now. Please join me in wishing her a Happy Birthday. Love you, Mom.
Yesterday was my Mom's 90th birthday. What a great opportunity to try out the new camera! As you can see Mom was not pleased at having her photo taken (several times) but it was a good day all in all.
I am just sharing something near and dear to my heart. I lost my mom this Monday and Iʻm feeling so lonely and lost...no pity or sympathy needed, just needed to let my emotions out and release some inner feelings.
My mom, Janet, loved clouds and would imagine shapes and scenes in them. She was a religious person with high conviction, who also loved family, the ocean, and sunsets. I am her and I miss her so much!
I thank God for gracing me with Janet...I want no other mother, but the mother I know. I thank God for also gracing me with the eternal guidance that she will forever provide...Mahalo, Ke Akua!!!
Rest In Paradise, MOM! You made it to 80 years of age like you wanted too (none of her family members reached the age of 80)! I am so proud of you!!!
But when you understand what has been going on in your own life...
Then you can see what she saw years ago
Letting you yourself discover the imbalances without interfering
Hoping that the light finally willl shine through
What an awakening it is to see and get to know your mom in adult life, when you yourself understands a little bit more of what was going on
I'm truly blessed and I'm very thankful
This morning she found her way to leave life.
It was my mom who asked me once why I did not share my pictures with others. She was a fan of mine, though she found my beginnings so terrible.
She had an eye for the beautiful moments and that's how she lived her life. I see you in my dreams, Mom ;-))
Thank you mom for your love, understanding, the only person in the world who will always be with me in good times and bad. Love u
We arrived at 6 am; the female was in the tidal zone foraging, occasional sounds from the cubs escaped the forest, but we could not see them. She disappeared into the forest a few hours passed, then returned to the tidal zone; not a sound came from the forest. We were wondering if she had instructed the cubs to stay hidden; they must have been sleeping. We knew the second the crying started, they were awake and wanting their Mom. She ignored the cries and continued foraging, knowing the cubs would eventually join her. The largest, more adventurous cub came insight then worked his way over to Mom. He appeared to be stuck rocking back and forth; I thought his feet were caught between rocks and wondered what the heck was wrong with Mom. Why didn't she show any concern? He wasn't stuck at all. He was trying to imitate his Mom by turning a large rock, one of the cutest things I have witnessed. It melted our hearts.
Cheetah cub and mom hanging out under the shades of a bush in the midday sun. When covering to black and white I usually do not to for sepia but seems ok in this one.
My mom is a woman filled with altruism. She is a life long learner, cat lady extraordinaire. My mom is the type of person who grows a garden and then doesn't get angry at the little bunnies who eat her vegetables. My mom keeps more potatoes than Agnes Varda has in her art exhibits. My mom loves neuroscience. She is not afraid of spiders or snakes and would rather sleep in the same bed as a Yūrei than suffer one more day with Trump as president. My mom has taken up yoga and tai chi late in life. She is a fan of all art. My mom has three furbabies that she loves dearly. All her cats have been named after monsters.
My mom is also an artist (photographer and drawer)
I'm sure I'm forgetting something....she is a very complex human.
Well I'm back from my fly fishing trip and wasn't eaten by any bears.
Mom was kind enough and felt her cubs were safe allowing me to get some close up shots. This was the only photo with all three in the same image
I will be posting the cubs close up at a later date.
I will try and catch up to comment on all your photos the best I can.
She passed away in 2012 at the age of 92. A cancer SURVIVOR for more than 20 years! Each time I see something that was hers brings a smile to my face, beautiful memories with her! Love you, Mom!
