Really outstanding story with amazing artwork. The kids love it!
"Mommy, Can You Hear?" by Angela R. Sexton is a sweet tale of a little girl and her mother. The girl says that the old clock on their mantle tells her stories of when it was a clock for a King and Queen in 1392. She tells her mommy of the magic the clock holds that can change the ball gowns and shoes of the young girls who came to the dances at the castles. The story is in rhyme which will enchant young listeners. It is light and easy and flows very nicely. The illustrations by Lindsay Long are light and colorful and go very well with the story. This is a lovely picture book that will delight little girls and their mommies." Judge 8, Writer's Digest Self-Publishing Awards
My kids love rhyming stories. The words and illustrations are beautiful.
"Mommy Can You Hear" is a great read for moms and daughters. The plot centers on a story told by a little girl, and the emphasis on a child's narrative is wonderful positive reinforcement of children's narrative building skills that are important for early literacy. As a Children's library professional, I can say this book would be a good fit for any Story Time theme about mothers.
This is a wonderful children's story to share with your little ones or to give as a gift for a new parent. Wonderfully illustrated and the story is so sweet.
